My final #TXBookFest2019 #BookHaul. I would have gotten more, but several books sold out before the end of the day Sunday. Which is great! I‘m glad for the authors and for Book People! (TX largest indie bookstore provided sales for the fest.)

It‘s a chilly morning, so we‘re all extra snuggled in with fuzzy blankets.

I feel like it‘s taking forever to read this one! I think it‘s mostly just that life is distracting me right now. At least I get a little reading time before obligations call me in a couple hours.

Wow. I just finished the second story in this. That was too real, and not the ending I was hoping for. I may have to take a break from this book. Don‘t get me wrong, the writing is excellent, it‘s just as good as his other books. I was expecting more supernatural horror than real life could-be-true horror. Whew. Intense.

I see I made the last post on this book too, when I bought it a year ago! For some reason I thought it was a memoir, but it‘s fiction. It even says “a novel” on the cover (bottom corner under the blanket here.). Don‘t know how I got confused. But anyway, enjoying it so far!

It‘s nice to spend the evening reading with a soundtrack of rain outside. #Froedrick would rather nap. He‘s annoyed I called him several times until he opened his eyes. 😸

Jackaby was fun! I can see the Sherlock meets fantasy comparison. I liked quirky Jackaby and his assistant. I probably won‘t read the others, but I‘m glad my bookclub brought this one to me.

I love used books for many reasons, one of which is that you never know what previous readers may have left inside! Here‘s a boarding pass for a flight from Birmingham AL to Detroit MI for a Sarah C. I wish there was a date on it!
