I worked at an Indie bookstore for a few years, best job ever, and loved doing the displays. One of my favorite months was September which was a full month display of banned/challenged books to stir up conversation and of course push books. This was one of the last displays I did before leaving.

This has been on my tbr list for too long. My local bookstore is doing book bingo (for a discount), and I need a banned/challenged book to finish, so I decided it was time to finally read this. So far, I really like it. I work with some autism spectrum kids, so hopefully, this will increase my understanding as well as entertain me. #challengedbooks

Day four of #bannedbooksweek I‘m showing of Fifty Shades of Grey. One of my favorite series. This book is constantly being challenged. Most recently in 2016 (I think 🤔) for....wait for it....”very, very erotic, with all kinds of sex, sex sadism and masochism. And concerns of being poor literature” (ila.org). I bet you didn‘t see those reasons coming!•

Judybskt I got some flack when I let my daughter read this in high school. 🤷‍♀️ 6y
KuehlerBookStop @Judybskt ☹️ I‘m sorry. I feel like if you felt your daughter was mature enough, it shouldn‘t have mattered. 6y
Judybskt @KuehlerBookStop Exactly!! 😏 6y

I almost forgot to wear my #bannedbooks #socks from @outofprint for the last day of #bannedbooksweek. Which banned or #challengedbooks have you been reading?

I'm not even surprised that this was 2016's most challenged book. I called it when it was first released that parents would hate this... And they do. Lol

There were many parts of this book that I didn't remember (cloud men, the sharks, etc). Yet another reason that it is good to make time to reread your favorites every once and awhile. #challengedbooks #readharder2017 #litsyatoz

One of my favorite series growing up. I had the cookbook, watched the TV show obsessively and, of course, owned all of the books.

According to the ALA, this book is frequently challenged due to "diverse content." Unfortunately, that's a common reason why many books are challenged/banned. #BannedBooksWeek #challengedbooks #bannedbooks #septphotochallenge #somethingforsept

anj-neophyte This book reminds me of Amy from Big Bang Theory 😍😍😍😍📖 8y
Linsy @anj-neophyte Oh, Amy. Love her!! 💖 8y
