Cosmos_Moon_River It is a beautiful book! There is also a beautiful movie, just called Hugo, if you haven‘t seen it yet, I highly recommend. I think I‘ve read all of Brian Selznick‘s books and they‘re all so beautiful!

Hello Lighthouse | Sophie Blackall

Sophie Blackall won the Caldecott for “Hello Lighthouse” yesterday. Since then, I‘ve seen a lot of library-folk complaining about it, which genuinely caught me off-guard! I freaking LOVE this gorgeous book. 🤷‍♀️ Congrats to Sophie! 💕🌊

Radiant Child: The Story of Young Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat | Javaka Steptoe

We were fortunate to have an event with the talented Javaka Steptoe who, consequently, just won the Caldecott medal! His wonderful book "Radiant Child" is vibrant, inspiring, & contemplative, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with future family.

What's with the tent, you say? That would be the #UBSAuthorTent (i.e. a children's play tent I use for author photos at the store). Javaka was a great sport. #caldecott #RadiantChild #indiesfirst
