4⭐️ I vaguely remember reading this book back when I was younger but I remember abandoning it because I didn‘t really understand what was going on. Reading it now, I thought that it was a really well-written story and that it probably was a little too much over my head at the time when I was younger. I liked how well the author developed the characters and the story. #2024 #bookreview #fiction #historicalfiction #middlegrade #newberymedal

Yeah well. I read it because it won the #NewberyMedal and I needed that to finish the #52bookclub23, but finishing that challenge was about the greatest satisfaction I got out of the book. Let‘s just say I‘m not a fan of YA and the teen drama just doesn‘t work me. I can see though why my daughter loved it.

Smarkies Well done on finishing the challenge! 13mo

Amiable I‘m with you re: YA. I‘m well past the age where I want to immerse myself in teen drama. 13mo
BarbaraBB @Amiable I realize I lately much prefer books about aging - and I start feeling ancient 👵🏼 😂 13mo

Thanksgiving reading and working on finishing a reading challenge. Claiming this for a children's classic I've never read because #NewberyMedal means classic, right?

I‘ve had this ARC for over a year. I considered donating it a couple times but always thought that no, this one is special. I was right. #NewberyMedal

This is the Newbery Medal winner for 2018. I‘m a children‘s lead at work so I love when these awards get announced.

First of all, sorry for the crazy number of posts. I've done nothing but reading and cleaning today, because I'm savouring my last full day off before going back to work. I picked this one up on a whim, because it was available on #overdrive, and I finished it in less than an hour. It was adorable, funny and insightful.

#awardwinning books for #booktober day 15! Winner of the #newberymedal ? I bought this a couple of weeks ago and can't wait to get into it after I finish "A Monster Calls". Happy weekend and happy reading everybody!

LibrarianJen This is one of my favorites from when I was in school! 8y
ephemeralwaltz @LibrarianJen Awesome! I feel like I've missed out on a lot of classics for younger readers so I bought a copy. I'll make my younger brother read it if I enjoy it! 8y

"Sometimes when you are surrounded by dirt, CJ, you are a better witness for what is beautiful." 4.5/5 ⭐️ for this #Caldecott Honor AND #NewberyMedal Winner. ? Great picture book! It makes for a great read aloud as well as it allows for a great discussion. Toddlers to 4th grade may enjoy this ?.
