I get why this had its own fandom! I doubt I‘ll get to much more this month for #AuthorAMonth but I definitely think I‘d want to continue the whole series.

Sietje‘s just here to show off her new blue socks.
My salon closed for a few days so we could all go to the grooming convention in Atlanta, and we were inspired to dye all of our own dogs to push our color line to our clients. Sietje was a great guinea pig, but she‘s willing to do just about anything for treats.
To make this book related: I‘m enjoying Siege and Storm, book 2 in the Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. #AuthorAMonth
The Grishaverse of it all has been on my TBR for years. I initially thought to start with Six of Crows but when researching, Shadow & Bone was the recommended entry point. This prequel was alluded to having spoilers, but since I‘m going into this totally cold, I decided to start here. 💙 👤
Now on to Shadow & Bone… #AuthorAMonth
This was a great interview with Leigh Bardugo at the 2018 National Book Festival in Washington DC.
I went with fellow Litten Erin @Bookworm83 , & met Chrissy @Chrissyreadit & her daughter, and Jen Moyers @Jmoyers = @UnabridgedPod

Thank you @Soubhiville and the #AuthorAMonth readers for introducing me to Leigh Bardugo!
Smart and a little sassy. Dark subjects, dark magic, dark humor. A fun and fast-paced read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Leigh Bardugo is #AuthorAMonth so I‘m using this as my excuse to finally wind my way into the Grishaverse. 🩵 💙
Always great to have a map!
My son toured the campus when looking at universities because Yale was heavily recruiting him. Fortunately he stayed closer to home, albeit still two states away. So this map made me think of him. Missing him a lot but will see him in one week when his spring break starts

Still learning a lot from reading an essay a day from my selection for February‘s #AuthorAMonth. Today‘s essay is about trigger warnings, and whether or not they are effective in preventing people from being triggered. As a survivor, she is not affected by possible triggers, because the triggers are nothing compared to the actual trauma. As a writer, she does not believe in including trigger warnings. An interesting perspective.
"Somewhere along the line we started misinterpreting the First Amendment and this idea of the freedom of speech the amendment grants us. We are free to speak as we choose without fear of prosecution or persecution, but we are not free to speak as we choose without consequence."
Lots of gems in this one! I didn't agree with everything she wrote but it gave me a lot to think about, much of which is still unfortunately relevant in today's society
