"I couldn't help but think of John Green's novels - I think his fans will eat this up." Publishers Weekly "Heartbreaking and hilarious. I have no doubt that girls everywhere are going to fall madly, deeply, hopelessly in love with Ezra Faulkner." Sarah Mlynowski, NYT bestselling author. "Maybe it's time to expand your list of literary crushes to include someone other than Augustus Waters." MTV.com "This is one of the most literary teen books I've read for a long time - up there with John Green - and it's a delight to read the ending absolutely blew me away, being unpredictable, powerful, and altogether fantastic." The Bookbag Golden boy Ezra Faulkner believes everyone has a tragedy waiting for them - a single encounter after which everything that really matters will happen. His own tragedy waited until he had everything to lose - in one night, a reckless driver shatters Ezra's knee, his athletic career, and his perfect life. No longer part of the popular crowd, Ezra finds himself at the table of misfits, where he encounters Cassidy Thorpe. Intelligent, effortless and wonderfully weird, she is unlike anyone Ezra's ever met before. Together they discover flash mobs, buried treasure, secret movie screenings and a poodle with a questionable history. But as Ezra dives into new friendships and new love, he is forced to ask: if you've managed to survive disaster, what happens when it strikes again? Robyn Schneider's Severed Heads, Broken Heartsis a lyrical, witty and heart-wrenching novel about how difficult it is to play the part that people expect, and how new beginnings can stem from abrupt and tragic endings.

The Beginning of Everything, Written by Robyn Schneider is a book about Ezra Faulkner, former Tennis turned cripple after a car accident with a drunk driver. I am currently a little more than halfway through and thoroughly enjoying it. However I do have some complaints. Often times Schnieder's depiction of high school seems unrealistic. She describes high school as a hierarchy and while there groups of people, there is no one popular person.

Sola M I really think you need to work on your writing skills. I have noticed a reoccurring theme where you struggle to understand basic grammatical concepts. Keep trying. never lose hope. 2y

The Beginning of Everything | Robyn Schneider

Varsity tennis captain Ezra Faulkner was supposed to be homecoming king, but that was before—before his girlfriend cheated on him, before a car accident shattered his leg, and before he fell in love with unpredictable new girl Cassidy Thorpe.

As Kirkus said in a starred review, “Schneider takes familiar stereotypes and infuses them with plenty of depth. Here are teens who could easily trade barbs and double entendres with the characters.

More #LitsyMagic ✨. Just read the review @Tracey3 wrote – and she really got me curious by mentioning that it‘s not quite John-Green-like, for as far as many of his books are concerned, I definitely can‘t understand the praise they get. His “quirky” characters are most of the time a bit too much, a bit forced for me …

But Tracey definitely caught my interest with this and so I‘m especially happy to have found it in my online library‼️🙌🏼

Hi everyone! This book is about Ezra finding himself after his girlfriend cheated on him and he got in a car accident that shattered his leg. This book is mainly about how he grew through everything he went through. It was okay. #litsy #kindle #kindlefire #paperwhite #library

This book was reminiscent of a John Green novel. It contained a male narrator, a mysterious female love interest, a tightly bonded group of friends, and witty banter. Not as witty as Green 😉. I was quickly invested in the characters and needed to know what would happen to them. The conclusion was meh, but the journey was enjoyable.
“I pictured her tragically; it never once occurred to me to picture her as the tragedy.”

I truly loved that book. It made me think about how a single moment can turn our whole lives around. But instead of giving up after a tragedy we can use it as a stepping stone to start over and discover who we really are. 😊

This book was so good that I devoured it in a couple of hours. 💖

Filled with sharp wit and endearing sarcasm, this contemporary YA novel appeals to fans of John Green and Ned Vizzini. The narrator was brilliant and a great character overall. Interesting story and surprising ending.

The Beginning of Everything was originally titled Severed Heads, Broken Hearts. It also had a different cover. I really liked the original title, so I was a little torn that it was changed. I do love the cover with the rollercoaster. ?

This is one of the best books I've ever read. There were many plot twists, and I loved the story line between Ezra and Cassidy. I love how the characters develop over the course of the book, and overall it was really great. One of my absolute favorites!

The #libraryhaul I just did had NONE of the books I originally wanted. All of those #tbr books were checked out, so I placed a hold for each one. Then, I got some other ones, cause what else should I have done? :)

The Beginning of Everything is my second Robyn Scheinder and I'm super excited. I loved Extraordinary Means.

Like Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska, this YA novel features a stuck-in-rut upper middle class boy whose life is turned upside down when he mets a mysterious, wild, beautiful but troubled girl. I had some mixed feelings about that. But, also like Green's stories, this one is full of philosophical musings, clever humor and a search for larger truths. The concluding message is solid and timeless. Thumbs up for those bits!
