Book 29 of 2024: 🌟🌟🌟/5
Book 29 of 2024: 🌟🌟🌟/5
A cross between contemporary and historical fiction. I was hooked all the way through.
It is husbands and lovers and the Cairo piece for me on this grid where I prioritized reading books where the cover art gave a summer feel.
5* = Loved It, want to shout out loud about this book! I do/will own/keep a physical copy. A+
4*= I liked it, would love to discuss. Solid B
3*=Meh, no need to discuss. Avg C
2*=Nope D
1*=DNF F
This has dual timelines and although the 1952 story could have been expanded to fill the entire book, I found the 2022 equally engaging. In looking for criticism… HF often layers too much period trauma on one character and boy, it was brutal for 1952 Hannah. There was also a rape I didn‘t think had value-add to its timeline.
“I think every day about how we're all here because of a series of little miracles we know nothing about.”
Dual timeline with history, mystery, and unearthed secrets. Love is the great equalizer🩵❤️

1-I‘d rather not host anything more complicated than a tea party or a small group for a meal in my kitchen 🤷♀️

“For me, what happens on social media is like a tree falling in a forest on the other side of the world. Besides, ignorance is bliss.”
I found the alternate time lines to feel so disconnected and unrelated initially! But as it all started to come together, I couldn‘t put it down!
An absolutely beautiful story. Told from two different timelines and by two different women. Both strong and weak but both in love. Related yet never meet.
Grab this one folks. It's so good.
Five big stars...

When you skip two months of #botm to “get a handle on things,” and then here comes this month…. 🏔️📚🤦♀️
I love how Williams can connect history and modern times through the smallest of details!

Good, but not my favorite by this author. It's a dual timeline but more time is spent in the contemporary one, and I prefer historical.

I got this ARC from work.
Two women separated by decades but connected through a beautiful, unique bracelet that‘s been passed down from mother to daughter.
I did think some parts of the kidney donation part of the plot were unrealistic but I did really enjoy the story overall.
1) William has a cardiology appointment on Friday and I‘ve got to get things together for Anna Claire‘s housewarming Saturday 🏡
2) tagged!
3) HF!
