A good Regency second-chance romance. Theodora “Theo” and James were raised together, ward and son of a duke. Two days after their wedding, Theo discovers he needed her dowry. She throws him out, he (naturally) becomes a pirate, she a fashion icon (who needs to be pretty when you have excellent taste?). He returns on the day he‘d be declared dead, determined to convince Theo he always loved her.

The final installment in the fairytale retelling quartet by @EloisaJames this one is different in the fact that the hero and heroine spend a great deal of time estranged. I found this one on the fluffier side of the #romantsy world, more sweet than spicy. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 1/2. Susan Duerden did another awesome job narrating.

A fun take on the fairy tale, The Ugly Duckling. A cute, frothy and 🔥 historical #romatsy. I borrowed the audiobook from Cloud Library, a blame it on Litsy app, the narrator is fantastic.

Listening to this #romantsy audiobook today. I really enjoy the narrator and the story so far.

The 4th novel in @EloisaJames ‘ Fairy Tale series (fairy tales re-set as Regency Romances) features an ugly girl who marries out of love and friendship; but finds out she was primarily married for her money... The 2nd section covers their nearly 7 years apart, and the 3rd section addresses their rather melodramatic reunion. Lots of fun and not only my fave of the series but one of my faves for the subgenre as well. Can be read as a stand-alone ❤️

It snowed again today!! I'm loving it so much, I wish it would just keep snowing to make up for the so far super lame winter. Took this after a short walk through the neighborhood. I love the sound of creaky snow underfoot, and how quiet cars sound on snowy roads. ❤️ Fitting to start a romance?! 😍

I am most likely going to have a job change in 2017, so I've put myself on a pretty strict budget for the next few months (meaning no money for books... Minus botm 😉) but I allowed myself one last book haul with my Christmas money, plus a gift card! I am excited to be forced to read all the books I already own, plus have more of a reason to visit my awesome local library!!!

Needed a pick me up so I reread one of my favorites which will lead me to read the sequels this weekend. Loved how Theo/Daisy became a swan and she & James worked out their differences. Time to reread With this Kiss and Seduced by a Pirate. #romantsy #romance #keeper

I adore Leonard Cohen, and I'm so sad to hear of his death. I put this under my novel Ugly Duchess because the end is a tribute to him. I was writing about standards of beauty being historically specific so when James, my hero, injures his voice he sings like Leonard, which we now see as so beautiful. #LeonardCohen #goodbye
