This twisted thriller was really riveting. I sympathized with the characters, and there was a lot of crafty misdirection. It's clever how it's all wrapped up.

I had a hard time putting this book down every time I read it. Twisty and engaging story about friendship and betrayal. One of the best thrillers I‘ve read in a while. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This novel was quite the thriller. It began with two women from very different walks of life meeting and a friendship is built. One homeless and the living in a huge house with a controlling husband. Life isn‘t easy for either of them. As the layers unfold, we learn about the very powerful and scary husband, and personal trainer who becomes a lover to both women. Well written and an attention grabbing novel. 4.25/5
Audiobook pick: If you're into domestic thrillers, this was really good. I usually am so-so about this genre but this was a solid pick. Two women's worlds collide and nothing is as it seems.
This book may be a thriller, but its beauty is in the exploration of relationships and strength. Harding's story will have readers thinking they are holding their breath, as they go through the beautiful journey of two women who are brought together by fate and the tides of their future......

Lee is running from her past and ends up in Seattle, living in her car. She happens to be at the beach one morning when she sees a woman walk into the ocean, apparently to end her life. Lee saves her from drowning and they begin a friendship. Lee discovers that the woman is in an abusive relationship and together they plot her escape.
I wasn‘t long into this one before I called the direction of this thriller. I was correct for Part 1 but the joke was on me since there were multiple parts to this twisty tale!
Lee is homeless due to a variety of reasons, Hazel is desperate to get away from her monster of a husband. Lee saves Hazel's life when she tries to drown herself and their lives become entangled. Little does either woman know that they are both being manipulated. It bogs down in the middle but the beginning and end are good.
loving this so far…always loved robyn harding shes become one of my favorite authors #readinglife #readinggoal #audiophile UPDATE: looooved this so much the twists and turns were fantastic i did not see the surprises coming
This is really between a pick and so-so,but as much as I think the plot was over the top , it had edge of your seat suspense and ended up being a fast paced thriller
Book 5 #ReadAway2024
The cover made me think it was a spooky story but it‘s a regular thriller with some twists you can‘t guess. A homeless woman on the run saves a rich housewife from downing but her life is so much more than that and wait until you find out about what kind of person her husband is.
Another twisted thriller. I audibly exclaimed when I hit a plot twist, which scared my husband. You pick up one of her books, and it could go in any direction. It was an entertaining and fast read, and it was exactly what I was in the mood for.
An entertaining audiobook that dealt with homelessness and spousal abuse amongst the many twists and turns readers hit on the way to the end. Everyone is lying to each other! Dirty rotten husband, infidelities, and two women who must do whatever they can to survive the will of the men they‘ve become entangled with. It was a bit repetitive and pretty unbelievable but I was hooked until the end!
𝟓⭐
Believe the hype, this book was fantastic. It had me so hooked, I was so completely reeled in the real world didn‘t matter…I couldn‘t stop listening.
- Brittany Wilkerson & Henriette Zoutomou…were both decent, they could use some work on their male voices but overall, at least there were two narrators for the two POVs.
There is more than one way to play the game. And there is more than one way to win it 🔪
Finishing this one today and it‘s fabulous!! Even in the last chapters I am on the edge of my seat!! 🎢 😱
Updated to say that I really enjoyed this book! It had lots of twists, some things were a little too coincidental but still very good!
Tux really doesn‘t want me to read though 😹😻

This book is really good so far!! I love the smooth covers of aardvark books and that the cover and book match! That rarely happens!

Yes! I have started decorating for fall/Halloween 🧡🖤
Has anyone read other books by Robyn Harding? Because this was GREAT. Total thrill ride, kept me guessing, would‘ve read it in a day but ya know, life 🤷🏻♀️😂
This is a pick, but not as enthusiastic a pick as the other reviews I‘ve read. I found it to be right on the edge of unbelievable. Now I‘m all in favor of a book that‘s not believable but I didn‘t expect it from this one. There were a lot of coincidences. I can‘t say I didn‘t enjoy it though, so ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Down on her luck and hiding out, Lee is living in her car when she sees a woman plunge into the water. Lee pulls her out and their paths become linked in this terrific thriller. This is so well crafted and constantly kept me guessing. Other than the author repeatedly saying Seattle is on the Pacific Ocean (it‘s not, it‘s on Puget Sound), I really enjoyed this.
🗣GIVEAWAY ALERT! In an unexpected twist, I received a duplicate #Aardvark box this month by mistake. I reached out to see if I should return it, and they graciously said to share with friends. SO, what better bookish peeps to share the love with than my Litsy fam?!
TO ENTER: comment which ONE of these books (the tagged or Ascension) you'd most like to win by EOD *Friday 7/14* and I'll draw a winner for each. Have them already? Tag a friend! ❤️
I kept my #Aardvark box simple! I was super tempted by the The Memory of Animals, but absolutely HATED her other book Swimming Lessons so, as much as I was tempted (in large part so I could put that *gorgeous* cover on my shelf), I wasn't confident enough to spend money on it until I see a lot more reviews. The Rachel Incident almost had me too, but some of the books it was compared to weren't my cup of tea. The Drowning Woman hit the sweet spot!
Much better than her last one! Still kind of mad about listening to that book.lol. The first three quarters of the story is so captivating and I couldn‘t put it down. There are quite a few twists that surprised me. The last quarter, which focuses on Hazel kind of lags. I‘d say this is a pretty good thriller that has arrived just in time for the summer. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Ok - so to recap my July #Aardvark predictions based on the cover and playlist clues, I feel pretty solid about where I'm at! Here's hoping a new clue doesn't completely contradict something and send me back to the drawing board 😬
Y'all wouldn't BELIEVE how hard I spiraled trying to work out this #Aardvark clue. Like, listened to EVERY SONG on the playlist on repeat type of madness. Basically, I think this one is complex and based more on the lyrics. Given there's a lot of references to running away, secrets, and (TW) suicidal thoughts, I think this thriller is a solid possibility! Or, my crazy self just spent hours listening to this playlist for no reason. I tried 🤷🏽♀️
