James and Cordelia must save Londonand their marriagein this thrilling and highly anticipated conclusion to the Last Hours series from the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Cassandra Clare. Chain of Thorns is a Shadowhunters novel. All first edition hardcovers will include full-color reverse jacket art, ten black-and-white interior illustrations, and a bonus short story! Cordelia Carstairs has lost everything that matters to her. In only a few short weeks, she has seen her father murdered, her plans to become parabatai with her best friend, Lucie, destroyed, and her marriage to James Herondale crumble before her eyes. Even worse, she is now bound to an ancient demon, Lilith, stripping her of her power as a Shadowhunter. After fleeing to Paris with Matthew Fairchild, Cordelia hopes to forget her sorrows in the citys glittering nightlife. But reality intrudes when shocking news comes from home: Tatiana Blackthorn has escaped the Adamant Citadel, and London is under new threat by the Prince of Hell, Belial. Cordelia returns to a London riven by chaos and dissent. The long-kept secret that Belial is James and Lucies grandfather has been revealed by an unexpected enemy, and the Herondales find themselves under suspicion of dealings with demons. Cordelia longs to protect James but is torn between a love for James she has long believed hopeless, and the possibility of a new life with Matthew. Nor can her friends helpripped apart by their own secrets, they seem destined to face what is coming alone. For time is short, and Belials plan is about to crash into the Shadowhunters of London like a deadly wave, one that will separate Cordelia, Lucie, and the Merry Thieves from help of any kind. If Cordelia and her friends are going to save their cityand their familiesthey will have to muster their courage, swallow their pride, and trust one another again. For if they fail, they may lose everythingeven their souls.

An excellent book. I was definitely shocked at the death of Christopher, especially since I was hoping he and Grace would end up together.

This is the final book in this trilogy, featuring Cordelia, James, Matthew, and Lucy, to name but a few. We find out what happens with all the characters and their lives. It was a good conclusion and was quite happy with the ending.

Reading while minion pulls up weeds. Apparently he feels like a house elf. Does that mean I don't have to pay him? 🤔

A good wrap to this trilogy. The first 3rd of the book which includes the trip to Paris and eventual reunion of two particular characters were the best part of this book. The middle 3/5 of the book was just way too long. Too many fight scenes and demon nonsense. I really couldn‘t care less about the Belial/Lilith plots; the best stuff focuses on the character relationships. Grace sucks (it has to be said).

Infernal Devices > The Last Hours

Saknicole Easy equation! I do like this series too. I obviously need to read this book. I wonder how the LA series will be. I heard it‘s her best, but I‘ll let you know when I do read it. 2y
Kimberlone @Saknicole yeah I have also heard that series is a fan favorite but I just have a hard time reconciling demon hunting with the modern world (part of why the Crescent City series felt too ridiculous). I would def read another series set 20 years later (roaring 20s shadowhunters?!). 2y

I liked this trilogy a lot more than the dark artifacts trilogy. That being said, I felt a little let down by this book. I enjoyed spending time with these characters, but I found myself wishing I could follow Tess and Will along instead of Daisy and James.

A satisfying end to this fun trilogy. I‘ve loved stepping back into the world of shadowhunters and escaping from the world for a while.

I was a bit optimistic in thinking I would finish Chain of Thorns before the end of the month, but my reading got off track in the latter half of February. So I did not finish my #BookSpin (Anne of Manhattan) or #DoubleSpin (Chain of Thorns). Hopping for better success in March!

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! Still great progress!! Some months just don't follow the plan 😂 2y

So many new releases these past months and lots of good reads this month! My favorite of February is def Clare‘s Chain of Thorns. Still can‘t beat Priory though. I‘m thinking that will be my favorite of the year.

Finally getting around to post about this #chunkster read. This was a really well developed book. I think this series is one of my favorites by this author. Little romance. A lot of fantasy. Enjoyable read.

Final volume in The Last Hours Trilogy, part of the Shadowhunters collection. I'm not sure this one was worth over 700 pages, but I was invested in the characters already. #7-2023

This was the conclusion to the Last Hours series that is a part of the Shadowhunters world. I would have easily read this in one day-I could not put it down. I love this world and these family characters who we get to know so much about throughout the entire series. In this one, Cordelia and the gang are trying to win the war against Belial while finally revealing all of the secrets everyone has been holding onto.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #serieslove2023

Always happy to add a new #CassandraClare to my bookshelf!

KateReadsYA Is the chain of gold a series you can read without reading any of her other books?! 2y
Follow.my.read @KateReadsYA yes it is a stand alone trilogy 2y
KateReadsYA @Follow.my.read Awesome. Thanks for letting me know. 2y
Enchanted_Bibliophile Question: I'm currently finishing up with Mortal Instruments, but I'm not liking it as much as I've loved Infernal Device. So are her new books more like MI or ID? 2y
