The Castle: A New Translation Based on the Restored Text | 
so-soIn my opinion, Kafkas strength are short texts. The Castle is one of his unfinished novels, but it would've made a greater impression if he had kept it short. To me it seemed likevKafka himself didn't know where he was going with this text. Still, I'm glad to have finally read this one as well.

Reading this book is like reading a dream 💭
pickMy first Kafka!! I really loved this, I see why people make such a fuss about him. Even tho I was never too clear on what was happening, the atmosphere and writing just carried me along and it was never hard to read like I thought it might be. I‘m definitely a fan now!
Continuing ploughing through audiobook backlog. Never read any Kafka before, it‘s a huge blind spot in my knowledge of ‘classics‘, hope I‘ll appreciate it as much as everyone else!
1. Lawrence of Arabia. It's the best movie ever! 🎥
2. Talking and knowing new things about a person if that's one of the first dates, and if we get along, then any activity will become great experience (except holding hands😜)
3. Don't think I have one, but I like odd ones more
4. I quite liked the Castle and read it to the end, but it was just a half of my book. Then novellas came and broke my brain. Never got through

pickI love the cover of my book because it shows the winding, confused path toward the castle. The entire book was dead ends and curvy twists in our Land-Surveyor's attempt to get to the castle. The people are so ridiculous that it's funny, yet infuriating because talking gets them nowhere. It's so perfect that Kafka never finished the novel because wasn't that kind of the point? It was just going to keep going in circles and never truly finish—right?

pickIn day 4 of my ' Prague on the Page' class on Czech literature, we came to Česky Krumlov, the village and Castle that inspired Franz Kafka to write : The Castle. The book is amazing and I highly recommend anything by Kafka!
so-soThis novel never seemed to come together the way The Trial and The Metamorphosis did. I was ultimately a little disappointed. Maybe it was just the translation.
The Trial...check! Metamorphosis...check! Amerika...check! #nowreading The Castle. In honour of Kafka's birthday month (I believe).
