When your friend sends you a postcard to make sure you've read the book she let you borrow 🤣 luckily a combo of finishing work early last week to read and slow post means I had read it first! #candybars #bandette #postcardclub @thegirlwiththelibrarybag
My lockdown power move is to lend graphic novels to friends and then sending them a postcard that references it...
I was looking forward to buying volumes 3 & 4 of Bandette but the publication dates have been pushed into 2021...
1. @bookriot but I had to wait for it to be available for Android devices.
2. Yes through my Goodreads challenge. I started a paper log as well but I've fallen behind 🙄
3. We'll Litsy certainly does, but I haven't been buying as much lately. Still book related social media definitely influences my reading choices.
4. It's a secret! Don't want to spoil anything for Group K #lmpbc readers.
@Chellebearss beautiful graphic!
Trying to work through my library pile. This is definitely a #BlameItOnLitsy.

This campy comic was a fun quick read with a plucky heroine/thief who loves books & art, has a crew of friends whom she pays with candy bars in exchange for help with her escapades, and a cheeky sense of humor❣
Nothing too serious here, just a fun filled little adventure.🤓

Just me catching up on the 'Kids Baking Championship'... I'm a Food Network junkie! 🍰🍩🍽🔪😉
Bullets?! How RUDE!
I tried to start this book last night, but Oscar found out I was eating Hot Chocolate Oreos, and he ambushed my cozy little reading area. ❤️

Finished the book in approximately 2hours. Fun read. The lead is a female thief, I hope Vol. 2 has more character development but over all a pick. This is my favorite frame of the book.
Just started this and would have finished it in one sitting but I'm exhausted. First graphic novel since high school and I'm loving it. Any suggestions for my next one?
Vol 1-3. Francophile styled. About a teenaged charming plucky thief heroine who is always eating chocolate bars and has many devoted friends/helpers. It took me awhile to get into, when I did I loved it. I liked the main story of the last one the best. The urchin stories and the extras at the back of each book really help make it an enjoyable read.
Why did this arrive shrink wrapped? 🤔
This is a fun graphic novel with a retro style about Bandette, a cat burglar working both sides of the law in Paris.
HEY EVERYONE THIS COUNTRY HAS TURNED INTO A FASCIST STATE IN FOUR DAYS BECAUSE OF ALL THIS OPPRESSIVE EXECUTIVE OVERREACH FROM DONNIE so I've been reading this book to calm me down a little. Am so anxious. It's a cute book, and mimics francophone style. Bandette is the most adorable criminal you will ever meet. She will help you forget about the flaming dumpster fire that is happening in this country. For like a few minutes, at least.
And here are my #bookstats in all their glory.
#Litsy has really inspired me to power through and read more during traditionally slow months - when work annoyingly eats into my real/reading life.
Thanks for the booknerd support, team!
Another recommendation from @brownekr! Lighthearted amd quick, but with an interesting tension/threat of harm beneath the surface. Definitely going to pick up the next volume.
My new love = Bandette.
Such a charming thief with her band of urchin helpers and her dog Pimento. Bandette is fearless and crazy talented at thievery and amusing quips. Even her rivals seem to admire her - when not trying to assassinate her! ADORE the illustration style. And looking forward to the next adventure filled with daredevil stunts, close calls, and candy!
This charming series has definitely stolen my affections! 🕶
Mystery! Intrigue! Thievery and tea and cookies!
With a smile, a kiss, and a Presto!
My husband tried to let me sleep in but with 2 kids making so much noise, it wasn't possible. So I decided to read something fun in bed. 😋 Who needs sleep anyway?? #socksunday
Matador debates with some goons on her appropriate punishment. Bandette and Matador are rivals.
A teen super thief steals more than hearts and minds and gets into tons of trouble on both sides of the law. But when a rival thief discovers a plot against her life, bandette and her network of street urchins snap into action.
Presto! Joining the Friday Photo Fun Fest thing and showing my fave autographed book.
At ECCC last year I got to meet and actually have an extended conversation with Colleen Coover & Paul Tobin. Colleen impressed the hell outta me when she named the Dewey for comics.
A fun, light graphic novel about a fearless, whimsical cat burglar. Set in Paris, Bandette claims she is the greatest thief in a world where heists and criminals are notorious.
