My next roll of #BookishMonopoly led me to “Blind Choice“. But since I reduced my TBR to basically 0, that one went a bit obsolete. So I decided to let SpinnerWheel choose my next book. And it landed on Rupi Kaurs “Milk and Honey“ and I could't be more happy with the choice!

pickI have heard good and bad things about this book. I was not sure what to think about this book as it‘s had so many contrive reviews. This book hit home. This book hit somewhere deep in my heart. The connection and relation I had to these poems was more than enough for me to love this book. Kaur speaks of love, pain, and self love. It creates an impact that you are not likely to forget
pickSuch a great exploration into love, loss, trauma, and healing. This book deserves to be read in one sitting and deserves to be read by all women. All women deserve to hear they are extraordinary and to see themselves through the pages of this book.

I just didn't like it as much as I would like to. I know that poetry is a personal thing and nobody can judge it, in fact I'm not saying it's not good, just that I didn't get some of the poetries.

Haven‘t been able to read the past two days because of a killer migraine that won‘t go away. I went to sleep with it and woke up with it. I still managed to clean my house, but my 2y/o has been extra terrible today on top of everything. We‘re gonna be iced in tomorrow so I hope my head feels better so I can enjoy my snow day with a good book. Send me some positive vibes.. 😔😩

I‘m always astounded when someone has put the words of my heart to paper.
Revisiting some Rupi Kaur to help soothe my soul. I read it years ago and didn‘t really get it but now I do. I guess you have to be in certain headspace to feel it.
pickMilk and honey is a book of personal flaws. It touches deep into your personal life and heals what you didn‘t know was damaged. The poems listed inside the book are personal, and imperfect which makes the book stronger in the message being sent throughout. It helps your flaws resurrect as beauty and opens your eyes to what may be hidden under a persons skin.

pickQuick read. Although some people do not agree that this is poetry i am fine with whatever it is.This book consists of the hurting, the loving, the breaking and the healing.
What touches me most is that “Every time you tell your daughter you yell at her out of love you teach her to confuse anger with kindness which seems like a good idea till she grows up to trust men who hurt her cause they look so much like you” from the hurting.

pickBeautiful words of survival, love, violence, and healing. My plan was to only read 1 section of poetry per night, but I couldn‘t help myself and read the entire book in an hour 💛
This has been the hardest part of leaving behind my old life and losing my independence.
I'm hoping one day I will look back from a position of success and be able to give back to my friends and family who helped me when I fell.
I don't know what that "Success" will look like yet, but one day I hope to look back on all these struggles and be proud again ❤

This is the shortest book I own. Of course it is a book of poetry.
pickSecond time round for this book. Still great, but the audio does sound a bit more sensual/sexual for work setting it might just be in how she reads it with some heavy breathing and long drawn out sentences. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
