#ReallyRandomFebruary #Animal This book is on the TBR .I can‘t imagine living in a cabin far away from everyone without the company of a dog .(and cats too) Tom Tom loves his afternoon nap. #catsoflitsy

Anne lived alone for many years in a log cabin she built on a bit of wild land in the Adirondacks. She wrote this book in 1976, but it still feels so relevant as she ponders human civilization's impact on wild places, our responsibilities toward the land and all living things, and how we can live more lightly on this Earth. I am loving this one. Part travel narrative, part nature study, entirely fascinating.

Nat_Reads Sounds great!! Added it to my (burgeoning) stack! 7y

This is my favorite #laidbackbook. After a divorce, this woman goes off to live in the woods on her own. Life goals for sure. This book is also my #www and #recommendsday pick. #augustofpages #bookphotochallenge #wonderwomanwednesday #wonderwomenwednesday

I read this a few years back and loved it. This lady was a true champion of the Adirondacks even before it was hip...This picture pretty much sums up our winters and the brutal cold that comes with them. It's a lovely read. #funfridayphoto
