If it weren't for The Vampire Chronicles, I'd never read so much horror and fantasy. If it weren't for Kinsey Milhone and the Alphabet Series, I would never have switched from romance to thrillers and mysteries. I love every single Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli film because every single one has a strong female character that doesn't fit into the traditional "she needs a man" trope.
