Levenseller is always a hit for me! She writes fast paced, fun fantasy stories, and I‘m always instantly swept up in them.
This story features two sisters, two love interests, a life-or-death quest, and so many twists & turns - what‘s not to love?
Looking forward to jumping into book 2 soon!
Blade of Secrets - Tricia Levenseller
Blood & Honey - Shelby Mahurin
Brisingr - Christopher Paolini

August #bookspin list!
Excuse the awful editing - I decided I didn‘t actually want to read the one I‘d listed first 😂🤦🏻♀️

"You think saying a few nice words to me earns you a kiss? That's not how it works."
"Is not nearly as hurt as your pride, else you would be at a healers and not here."
Favorite book read this year?
For me either Blade of Secrets by Tricia Levenseller or Matched by Ally Condie
This is 100% true and many people need to learn to understand this. He goes on to have a fit but his parents end up believing her. She also meets Warlord Kymora Avedin during this time. She can't be trusted and I also found it funny Ansel didn't get his way.
By far, my favorite aspect of this novel was the way in which Levenseller portrayed Ziva‘s social anxiety. Mainly for that reason, Ziva was my favorite character because she was so relatable. Similarly, I also appreciated the way the other characters in the novel treated Ziva‘s anxiety. Everything else about the novel was wonderful too! The romance was perfect and the plot flowed, as always!
This book and it's cover were both amazing. Thank you to Bookishfirst for sending me a copy of it to review.
The book starts off as Ziva a magical bladesmoth dealing with a Karen customer who hurt himself on his blade.
Quote: "It's not nearly as hurt as your pride else you would be at a healers and not here." Page 5. I agree this is very true and he is acting like a two year old which I found hilarious.
52% way through 100% reccomend was hard putting it down to sleep but can't pull an all nighter being pregnant anymore 😂
This books tooooo good definitely read it. Only on page 58 and omg it's probably going on my favorites shelf after.
"I prefer metal to people, which is why the forge is my safe space."
Loving this book, the main character takes introverted to a new level and is an excellent character.
This was a great adventure loved the storyline…. Can you tell I haven‘t been sleeping lately 🤪📖 so this is what I do 🤨📖
Tricia Levenseller is a queen of witty banter. Many of the snappy comebacks between characters make me laugh out loud. That said, this was not my favorite of her books. It was good, but something felt a little off to me, and it ends very abruptly. Looks like the sequel comes out later this year.
Besides the banter, I enjoyed the sisters‘ relationship, and it was good to see anxiety portrayed too.
I have so many unread books on my shelves that are series starters. Many of them are getting sequels this year and rather than adding yet another book to my TBR shelf, I'm going to try to read what I have and decide if I actually WANT to continue the series.
I have a terrible completeness issue where I feel obligated to own every book in a series, even when I didn't particularly enjoy them. I'm running out of shelf space, so it needs to stop. 🤞
When a smith mage creates a sword powered by secrets, she has to decide what she‘ll sacrifice to keep it from a dangerous warlord.
This was a fun read! I adore the magic-working-with-trade idea (Tamora Pierce‘s Emelan books), so I loved watching Ziva work her magic with her smithing. I liked how the romance was a bit of a slow burn. & I loved the sisters‘ relationship!
The ending felt too sequel bait-y to be really satisfying for me. 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑
I am loving this cute new patio furniture set. And I‘ll enjoy it for the two days before it‘s supposed to snow on Monday. 🚫❄️🚫
I totally kept spacing on checking my mail for the last couple of days! It‘s here! And it looks so pretty! #LMPBC #GroupL @kellyann28 @Endowarrior21 @BookishBelle
This book was really good. It was a little too YA in some places but the story moved along and kept me interested. This was my #lmpbc book for this month.
@ozma.of.oz I mailed this book to you today. It should get there next Thursday. I totally forgot to take a picture of it before I mailed it off so I included a picture of the flower arrangement I did for church this past Sunday. I was going for ‘summer into fall‘. 😁
@BookishBelle this on its way to you I sent it out this morning. #LMPBC #GroupL #round12 @ozma.of.oz @kellyann28
I truly loved this book beginning to end and I can't wait for book 2 to come out. This was the first book I read by this author even though I own all the rest of her books lol but I am now excited to read her others. #LMPBC #round12 #groupl @ozma.of.oz @BookishBelle @kellyann28
🔥I finished! I liked this one and the use of magic in this book was pretty neat, I thought! I will be mailing this out tomorrow to the next recipient! 🔥

Starting one of the group reads for July in the TBR & Beyond group. I am yet to be disappointed by a Tricia Levenseller book!
Thanks for the tag @DarkMina ❤
1. Admittedly sometimes I do flick to the last few pages when reading books with love triangles so I don't get disappointed if my ship doesn't sail🤭
2. I definitely learned that social anxiety can be dealt with and overcome, and that some social situations aren't always so scary.

I don't know many people on here, but if you see this consider yourself tagged!
Tricia Levenseller has done it again, and written an absolutely brilliant book! I loved the plot, and the massive plot twists at the end that were so unexpected, I liked the world building and magic system. Ziva was a superb MC, her crippling social anxiety was written so well abs portrayed perfectly, her journey dealing with it was so inspirational. The sisterly bond was so sweet and loving, and I loved the double romance. Ends on a cliffhanger..
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The world building was done great. I can‘t wait to explore more of the world. The romance was great. I liked how Ziva had social anxiety. I did want to yell at her at times. The friendship and sisterhood were really good.
