The Girl with a Clock for a Heart
The Girl with a Clock for a Heart: A Novel | Peter Swanson
Already optioned for film, The Girl with a Clock for a Heart is Peter Swansons electrifying tale of romantic noir, with shades of Hitchcock and reminiscent of the classic movie Body Heat. It is the story of a man swept into a vortex of irresistible passion and murder when an old love mysteriously reappears. On an ordinary Friday evening at his favorite Boston tavern, George Fosss comfortable, predictable life is shattered when a beautiful woman sits down at the bar, a woman who vanished without a trace twenty years ago. Liana Dector isnt just an ex-girlfriend, the first love George couldnt quite forget. Shes also a dangerous enigma and quite possibly a cold-blooded killer wanted by the police. Suddenly, shes backand she needs Georges help. Ruthless men believe she stole some money . . . and they will do whatever it takes to get it back. George knows Liana is trouble. But he cant say nohe never couldso he makes a choice that will plunge him into a terrifying whirlpool of lies, secrets, betrayal, and murder from which there is no sure escape. Bold and masterful, full of malicious foreboding and subtle surprises, The Girl with a Clock for a Heart is an addictive, nonstop thrilleran ever-tightening coil of suspense that grips you right up to its electrifying end.

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

I read my first Peter Swanson book in early 2023 and I only have two more from the back catalogue to go! I love them. So clever. It‘s been a highlight of the year to discover a new author that I enjoy so much, I‘m sad it‘s almost over 😭

I like the kitty cuddles though 😍

This is my June 2022 book. George Foss never thought he‘d see her again, but on a late-August night in Boston, there she is, in his local bar. Give this book a try for a great read!

George Foss never thought he'd see her again, but on a late-August night in Boston, there she is, in his local bar, Jack's Tavern.
When George first met her, she was an eighteen-year-old college freshman from Sweetgum, Florida.

EadieB She and George became inseparable in their first fall semester, so George was devastated when he got the news that she had committed suicide over Christmas break. But, as he stood in the living room of the girl's grieving parents, he realized the girl in the photo on their mantelpiece - the one who had committed suicide - was not his girlfriend. 2y
EadieB Later, he discovered the true identity of the girl he had loved - and of the things she may have done to escape her past.
Now, twenty years later, she's back, and she's telling George that he's the only one who can help her...
2y
EadieB George Foss thought Liana Dexter was dead. She shows up at the bar and asks him to help her. He does help her and everything turns crazy. This is a psychological thriller that is a haunting debut. It is full of twists that make you want to read to the end. This is my 2nd Swanson book but won't be my last. Great book! 2y

Not bad, but I was expecting/hoping for more. I‘ve enjoyed some of Swanson‘s other books a lot more. This was a quick read and entertaining enough though

I enjoyed this book very much. This was the first Peter Swanson book I have read. I feel that it kept me reading to find out what was happening with the case.

Definite 4/5 stars and I will be reading more from this author. I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review from GoodReads Giveaways.

I loved this title so much, I just had to read it. It‘s a twisty-turns thriller filled with obsessive love, stolen identity & time/mood shifts. Swanson has written four novels...I‘m looking forward to his latest.

I enjoyed this book, not my fave Peter Sawnson one so far (it took a little longer to grab me) but when it did it was worth reading. Enough plot twists to make it a worthwhile read

I have really liked Peter Swanson‘s other books, but this one was just so-so for me. I just finished, much to my surprise (I really expected more!), and it left me very unsatisfied. Oh well, you can‘t love every book you read!

This was a good book but not as great as ‘The Kind Worth Killing‘ - definitely worth a read though, he is a good author and I know there will be even@more great books from him :)

Ok soooo... I already slipped up today, why not just compound the problem? 🙈

This one has mixed reviews but I enjoyed Peter Swanson's other books (fast paced, brain candy type thrillers - The Kind Worth Killing and Her Every Fear) and I figure it's definitely worth the $1.99 to check this out! #ebookdeals #bookaddict #ihaveaproblem #cantstopbuying #pleasesendhelp #actuallymaybedont #sorrynotsorry

vivastory I picked this up too. Hard to say no to Kindle deal 7y
erzascarletbookgasm I liked The Kind Worth Killing. Is Her Every Fear as good? Am curious about this too as I've read mixed reviews. 7y
swishandflick @erzascarletbookgasm I enjoyed it! Though not quite as much as The Kind Worth Killing, the twists didn't have as much oomph. But a quick, entertaining read nonetheless, I thought 😄 7y

It was just good. Not great. Reviews and blurbs said it was a 'thrilling ride' 'impossible to put down' I thought it was a decent easy read and quite predictable. I wasn't keen on the ending either. I like my thrillers more gory with serial killers and crazed kidnappers. 3*

MrBook 😂👏🏻 I like how you like them 😎🙌🏻! #KindredSpirits Great review. Wondering if I should add this to my TBR. 8y

I had mixed feelings about the ending and I thought I'd take some time to reflect before posting but it didn't help. I'm still not sure how I feel, but I did enjoy the rest of the book.
