I spent roughly 80% of this book crying….. or raging…… what the hell?!
The tears may be due to the fact that I absolutely pulled an all nighter to read this in one sitting…..
Having a reading date with the gf at the park today. Just enjoying the weather and each others company while reading and having some snacks.

I, of course, was expecting this book to pull me in, just like other SJM series, and I was right but I was not fully prepared for all of the twists and turns in this story.
I now have to start the next book because I have to know what happens...:)
Never read a Sarah J. Maas book before. Going with this series. Heard tons of good things. How‘d I do for a first Maas book?

Wow! What a story! I must say that it was difficult to get into this very complex world but I loved how everything came together and made sense at the end. I thought it would be predictable yet it wasn‘t. It really hit me emotionally no gonna lie, had me crying multiple times through it. I love how SJM throws random phrases in the beginning that come to make sense and mean so much at the end. This story had everything I could ask for in a book.
Loved it! Double twist at the end? Great. I don't normally like urban fantasy but I'm enjoying and can't wait for the acotar crossover.
I've been thinking about my favorite romantasy books now that I've gotten into it.
Here we go
1. Gothikana by runyx
2. Any of Jennifer Armentrout's book series
3. Sarah j Maas's ACOTAR and crescent City
4. Emily mcintre's never after series
5. Steffanie Holmes' nevermore bookshop series
Here we go! 800 pages and yet here I am already half way through on one day.
I wouldn't have done this series had I not heard about the cross over with acotar.
SJM does it again. I know I‘m late, but I hate waiting for a series to be finished 😅 My complaints: this book is unnecessarily long, the first 30-40% is heavy world building, and there were more than a few cheesy lines.. What I liked: the characters, idk how SJM writes such amazing characters every time, (I think I like Bryce better than Feyre honestly) and a theme that seems to overflow from every page- the power of love and friendship. ❤️ 4.5/5
This book, plus medical issues, put me in a severe reading slump. It was downright depressing most of the time. It was way too long and very repetitive. However, the last 200 pages were good. It might be awhile before I pick up the sequel. 😬
Clove and Rocket got baths today and I think it got them pretty relaxed 🥰 spending the rest of my evening reading the tagged book.🕯📖
Currently reading these two for various small book clubs/buddy reads. #bkclubread #Springskies

I'm starting on this buddy read!! I'm so excited to finally get to this book. @BooksNBowls
LOVE world building. Maybe that‘s why I liked it over ACOTAR (not over ToG). This series has way more adult topics. Drugs and overdose being main themes within this murder mystery. Also loads of swears and trauma. Made it feel more relatable, more impactful. I cannot get over Bryce and Hunt‘s chemistry. Bryce takes nothing from anybody. Hunt is like Stitch; with trauma. cried 3 times in final 150 pgs; not expected in book 1. The Sunball Cap! #sjm
This was a re-read to refresh myself for the new release.
I love this series just as much as the other two. It's so cool that this one takes place in a more modern setting.
I also love that there are more species in this series!
The plot is huge in this series. Bryce is such a strong character. I loved her character growth from party girl, to a recluse, to opening herself up to Hunt. I loved all the characters in this one, especially Lehabah.
It's been on my shelf since it came out. Now that there's 3 of them maybe I should actually read it 😂
This book didn‘t hook me as much as the other two series but it is still amazing! Bryce is a badass and I love her ❤️ Love that all SJM most lovable characters are female (with a couple exceptions) 🥹❤️
Very slow on the re-read before the latest book. But as always, I sobbed at the end.

Well… I‘m going to try something different to see if this might help pull me out of the most epic slump I‘ve ever been in. Gotta see what the hype is about.

I am such a fan of SJM books; I like that this series is set in present day. This mixed murder mystery, cop procedural with fantasy and was just pure perfection in my eyes! Not as much spice in this but still plenty of romance. On to book 2 and book 3 is published this week. Spredges by my husband ❤️
Book 4 of 2024!
Anyone else trying to reread the first two Crescent City books before the next one comes out this week? 🤭💕📚 My Barnes & Noble is actually having a party for the midnight release on Monday evening! I'm totally going, and so excited about it! I haven't been to a midnight book release party since my Harry Potter days! 🥹 #catsoflitsy #rumpel

Loving this on audiobook!!!! Definitely recommend especially if you like fantasy. The third book in the series comes out in 4 days, so I‘m looking forward to lots of audiobooking 😁 What are you listening to?
Welp. I had very mixed feelings about the first half of this book, finding the exposition and world building unnecessarily wordy, repetitive, and too much of an info dump rather than a reveal. HOWEVER. The second half just takes off like a freaking rocket and kept me on the edge of the page right through the end. I guessed a couple of twists, but many had me absolutely reeling, and the conclusion was truly excellent. Can‘t wait to start book 2!
This book was a VERY slow starter, but I stuck with it since I am buddy reading, and I‘m glad that I did. About halfway through and there‘s a TON going on — lots of intrigue and mystery and just a hint of spice. Very much enjoying.
Finally getting to this book after a week of struggling with a head cold and not being able to focus. Now to see if I can get through i
the 800 pages before it's due at the library.
Finally got through the first 100 pages! ✨️💕 LOVING BRYCE & RUHN 💕

A homemade chai latte and a new buddy read with the book bestie — perfect for a very blustery Sunday afternoon!
All right, @Kaylaapps let's do this!
I absolutely adore ACOTAR, but haven't read either CC or TOG -terrified they won't live up to that series, I suppose. Let's see if that opinion changes!
Just back from a fantastic cruise around Asia. There wasn't much time for reading as every say was so busy but managed to get through these 3 books. 1st 2 books were good 👍 but Crescent City...OMG such a fantastic book. Loved it and delved straight into the second book! Loved the characters and the nice crime/mystery twist to a romantasy

This is a reread before book three comes out in a few weeks, and I liked it even better this time around!
Elizabeth Evans is an amazing audiobook narrator, so I recommend listening if you can.
A lot more, obviously, stood out to me this time, and I took my time with it more than before, though those last 200 pages still go at a breakneck speed. I expect nothing less from SJM.

Let the reread begin!

📚📚 Re-Read 📚📚
I typically don't plan out too much of what I'm reading each month. But with the CC3 countdown starting, I knew I was going to need to dedicate some time for a re-read to get ready. Kicking that off with House of Earth and Blood. I've forgotten how much I loved the start of Bryce and Hunt.
Doing a re-read before CC3 comes out. This will be important!
The only plus side to being pulled to sub (as opposed to my normal day) is I get reading breaks while the kids are at specials. #lookingonthebrightside
Unlike ACO-whatever where things sort of start happening & you catch up later & go “yeah makes sense”, this 1 has worldbuilding, a more modern/unique world. As such, the first 1/2 of the book moves slower, but there are important little breadcrumbs that come back later in the story. It was great, I loved Bryce. & as always, Maas can write the Hel out of a hurt comfort scene, a trope for which I am a huge sucker.
Y‘all, I am at pivotal point in this book & I just want to go finish it but I have to work for a living(for some reason).Don‘t they know Bryce is in trouble?
I‘m impressed with the world building & the way she solved a common issue I have with the aging/not aging of the fae. &breadcrumbs to the greater Maasaverse. But IMO there are stumbles in the 1 of the POVs (if we are seeing through someone‘s mind the actions shouldnt be entirely a surprise)
I really want to keep reading House of Earth & Blood but I really need to start my book club book or else I might not finish it before the meeting.....decisions decisions 🤔🤦♀️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book!!!! Every emotion under the sun😱😂😭❤️🤬🫣💔❤️🩹Seriously, I wasn‘t sure what I expected but man Bryce, Hunt and Ruhn loved them all and every twist in the story.
Finally started this one to be ready for book 3 next year 📚📚📚 And so far I have laughed way more than I expected😂
