Leo and Grim begrudgingly go on a quest together to remove a curse that binds them together. This was such an incredibly fun read! Adventure around every turn of the page. I wound up reading through the climax twice before finishing the book to take it all in again. #LGBTQIA #MusicMagic #Fantasy

Kenyazero Used for #LGBTQIA2025 A musician; #GottaCatchEmAll Pikipek: features a musician and instrument on cover @puddlejumper; and #OwlHouseReadathon Stringbean: an intense or epic ending 16h
PuddleJumper I really enjoyed this. Looking forward to her other works 16h

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5/5)

I am discovering the fact that I enjoy T. Kingfisher‘s writing immensely. I loved “Swordheart”, and it‘s been entirely too long since I have read any of her other books. I will absolutely be continuing this series and look forward to immersing myself into this world again.

Liatrek This series is an absolute delight! 3d

I love fantasy. But I have a very strong distaste for smarmy, poorly written romance. Yet here I am, all sucked into a romantsy series. Because vampire hunger games! I mean I was 70% in before I had to encounter “the rigid length of his desire”. So I have hardly rolled my eyes at all. Great character development makes all the difference.

I hadn't intended to pick up this series, but I stumbled across secondhand copies at a great price and decided to give them a try.

Yes, this is a silly, spicy romantasy where some plot points are glossed over rather than being fully explained, but if you can just fully suspend your disbelief and allow yourself to go along for the ride, it can be rollicking good time.

BarkingMadRead I have a bunch of these, I‘ve only read the first one so far, but it was good fun for sure 1w

The Phoenix Keeper, by S.A. Maclean (2024)
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Premise: A young zoologist specializing in the conservation of magical creatures and living with severe anxiety must learn to cope with human and not just animal interaction when her zoo has the opportunity to revive its dormant phoenix breeding program. ⬇️

Mattsbookaday Review: I wanted to love this but I found it pretty disappointing. This really soared in its description of the joys, dangers, and heartbreaks of animal conservation efforts, and its protagonist‘s believably slow-but-steady growth in managing her anxiety. But very little happens for the first half of the novel, the big bad is disappointing and obvious, and the romance, while sweet, took way too long to get going. 1w

#ReadYourKindle picks for September
They all have a paranormal theme so this should be fun. It seems perfect for getting into Fall and spooky season 👻
