Ok @CSeydel I‘m calling it! Shield of Sparrows was my favorite book of the year! 🎉 This was a year of epic Sanderson fantasy and finding tons of new authors. Wishing everyone a great 2026!

I picked this book because of the bingo spots I needed for #ISpyBingoDec @TheAromaofBooks. A collection of 4 novellas. Of course, Kelly Armstrong got my attention. I bailed the second novella by Jeffe Kennedy, too confused to continue, but the 3rd by Melissa Mark I loved. The first book finished for #Welcome2026Readathon

I did it again 🫣
Sorry, life got busy and I fell off posting again, but I'm back for some post holiday fun!
Here's my holiday haul of books, and I will be back again with a couple of lingering reviews from December soon.
Many warm holiday wishes everyone!

I hesitated to read this because of the cover tbh- and the cover is sort of misleading! I Loved this book! It is one of my favorites for this year! I feisty fmc with weather witch powers, forced marriage, a king battling the odds to save his people…. monsters- bad people… morally gray people… good people… questionable choices- bravery, deceit all tied up in a book I read in 2 days! Romantasy- with spice and a great story for most of book!

Okay so Quicksilver is so much fun! I‘m not a fan of the romance but I like the world and plot so far
“‘You are the foundation that helps me stand. You are my walls and my roof. My shelter. You are my home.‘
His lashes swept up, the amber of his eyes churning wildly. ‘As you are mine, Poppy.‘”
#December2025

It took me a while to read this book. But I am glad I took my time with it. I enjoyed the world building and the characters so much. I can't wait to read the next book. I rated the book a 4 out of 5 stars.

I‘ve only dipped my toe into Romantasy, but I found this first book in this duology enjoyable. The world is a little confusing at first, but I loved the characters. (We ride at dawn for Gargoyle!!)

Next up potential! I just finished Bunny so idk what I‘m in the mood for yet😅
