I read these when I learned that Tears of the Wolf is a sort of prequel. The writing is not as good as these newest two books, but it‘s a solid story about two cursed individuals trying to survive, break their curses and have fallen in love- and basically a lot of people are trying to capture and or kill them. Also monsters.

PuddleJumper I love her book goblin skits 5d

I just realized I have not been posting books as I read- no clue how that happened!!! I had a hard time getting into this book- and for the first half would have considered it a so-so, but as parts came together I began to enjoy it more and by the end was satisfied with the direction it went in. This is the first of a duology- and I would love to hear other thoughts/discuss with anyone else who read it.

lil1inblue I constantly forget to post reviews. 🫠 I swear I'm reading! 😅 6d

JenniferEgnor I‘m behind on my reviews too. I‘m not sure if I feel pulled to read this book yet but the cover is absolutely gorgeous and I love the title too. 6d
Chrissyreadit @DGRachel Yes!!! I loved Bartholemew and did not see the twist at all!!! 6d
Chrissyreadit @JenniferEgnor I would not rush to read it until the second book comes out in a way- It is very similar in style to Naomi Novak. I think i loved the authors other books from the beginning. BUT the last 25% completely redeemed it for me. 6d
DGRachel This was my first book by this author and I was absolutely enamored by the writing (I think I like One Dark Window a smidge more, although I didn‘t like the sequel to that one as much). I did not expect Bartholomew‘s story to be what it was and it made me sob. I did see the big twist coming though and I don‘t love it, but I‘ll definitely be picking up the next book. 6d
Chrissyreadit @DGRachel I knew the Abbess would be bad - I did not expect that the gargoyles and diviners were children who died or were dying- or that the king - who is only 17 would be so bad!!! especially for what he did to Maude. I thought the Heartsore Weaver was really sad too. And the sprites… so sad. I LOVE how Bartholemew was written and am very worried about how he will fare in book 2 with his injuries. 6d

5/5 ⭐️ I absolutely love this book. It was funny and sad. I love all the characters. I want to learn more about Taladaius. Carrion, I loved how funny he was. Never serious. I am still shock about Carrion secret. I didn‘t see that one coming. If you love ACOTAR, I recommend you read this.

Alluring cover. Intriguing world-building. Quirky gargoyle sidekick. Sweet budding romance. Devastating villainy. I‘m in for Book 2.

⭐️4/5
A great fantasy with romance. Beautiful world building, captivating characters. It does set up for a sequel which I personally never like in a book, hence loss of a star. Will definitely be continuing though.

This book was fun to read, but I was expecting a little more from it. The quest that they go on, I thought it would be a little more difficult, considering how many others had tried and failed. The Diviners was an interesting concept, but they should have figured out what their fate was going to be after 10 years. It felt like things fell into place too easily for Sybil so there wasn't much tension in her story. The ending was a big disappointment

Butterfinger Oh no. I really enjoyed the duology. I was going to pursue everything she wrote. I will still read it, but I won't be in a hurry. 2w
ReadingOver50 @Butterfinger I still liked it. Just in retrospect there were some problems. 2w

Rules for Ghosting: A Novel | Shelly Jay Shore

I absolutely adored this book! Such a tender story about grief and family expectations, finding your place in life and love. I enjoyed learning more about Jewish customs surrounding death & funerals. As much as I was rooting for the romance between Ezra and Jonathan, I was also totally invested in the Friedman family's journey with forgiveness. While Ezra can see ghosts, this is less of a ghost story and more a contemplation of healing after death
