#Two4Tuesday

1. I do not use books as decorative objects, but I think it‘s a cool idea.
2. My ADHD distracts me the most from reading. It distracts me from a number of other things as well 😂😂😂

TheSpineView Thanks for playing! 2y

@Graciouswarriorprincess I finally picked this book up from hold at my local library today. I flipped through the first few pages, agreed with it, and put it down, lol - which is my WHOLE REASONING for getting the book!! I feel like an idiot as usual. My mind is even worse lately. I can really only concentrate if I am listening to binaural beats at the library. I also bought it from ThriftBooks for like $4 so I can go through it better. Thanks ❤️

Mimi28 #catsoflitsy #stormy is mad at me. She is laying on the corner of my bed with her back to me. She will get up and bring her spring toy in here when I finally lay down. I can‘t promise I‘ll get up, but she sure knows how to make me guilty, lol. She‘s my best friend though, seriously ❤️❤️👍🏽👍🏽😻😻 6y
Graciouswarriorprincess @Mimi28 Aww, baby steps. Glancing through the book is a good thing though! Cats are definitely are best friends but they rule and let us know. Hugs and I am always here for you!😉💕😀 6y
Mimi28 @Graciouswarriorprincess Thanks!! I really appreciate your support!! Hugs back and I am here for you too!! ❤️❤️ 6y

This was helpful. I appreciated the tips at the end especially. We are finding structure to be key in helping our child.

I resonated with this quote: “Structure makes possible the expression of talent. All creative expression requires structure.”

I only got a couple of hours in today and that was via audiobook plus my Hobbit chapter. It was a great distraction filled day! My hubby came home after two nights gone, we had Pho and watched Valerian. It was great! #24in48 That's gonna be my total. It's been fun y'all!

Soubhiville Nice! I'm glad you got this much time to read! 7y

A good friend of mine created a "Didn't Complete" folder on Goodreads and filed this book in it. I can't help but see the irony in this ?????????. An absolutely wonderful person with a poetic gift. Love it!

Graciouswarriorprincess Lol! This is a great book. It was given to me when I was diagnosed with ADD when I returned to school in my forties. 8y
minkyb It is a great book. He did some excellent work with ADD and I was lucky enough to hear him speak many years back. 8y
Apinlibraryland Hehehehe *ahem* 😜 8y

JanuarieTimewalker13 @Graciouswarriorprincess sometimes I wonder if there is a link between middle age and ADD...bc I've noticed with myself that I'm all over the place and I wasn't like that in my twenties and thirties..I wonder if there is a hormonal connection? 8y
Graciouswarriorprincess @JanuarieTimewalker13 I think that I always had it because I was always a poor student and didn't get diagnosed. A college professor picked up on it, got me tested and from then on, I became a great student who graduated college with high honors! Amazing what great people can do for you in your life.😊 8y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @Graciouswarriorprincess that's a wonderful story!! There are some really great professors out there!! It's amazing what happens when one person takes the time to help!! Congratulations!! 8y
Graciouswarriorprincess @JanuarieTimewalker13 Thank you. My alma mater 👨‍🎓 is a great school and I am truly blessed in many ways.😉 8y
Graciouswarriorprincess @JanuarieTimewalker13 it is hormonal too for women to experience that as we get older too. 8y
Desha 👍🏻😜😜😜❤️ 8y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @Graciouswarriorprincess you're welcome! And that's great!! Oh yeah, then that is definitely my problem...some days I can't even finish making my bed bc I get bored, come back and do something else. Even with reading, I typically have 2 books going at once. I was always super focused prior to maybe 45...I think that's when things changed 8y
Graciouswarriorprincess @JanuarieTimewalker13 it will Great better. Eat well, exercise, hydration and rest help. Also try journaling. 8y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @Graciouswarriorprincess yes, all those things are key!! 8y
TheBookAddict 🤣🤣🤣 8y
MyNamesParadise The book is meant for those who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. Dr. Hallowell is essentially the go-to expert. I have most of his books. I don't have this one because it's the lowest rated of his books. Maybe he addresses getting distracted in general and not specifically to those with ADD like his other books. But I haven't finished any of his books yet...nonfiction is hard for me to get through... 8y
Ksvz I have horrible ADD and find that audiobook versions for non-fictional books are a godsend. I love that my favorite books about women and ADD is almost 400 pages of dense text and information. 8y
tpixie Lol. That's why I'm on Litsy and not doing my work related paper work!! Yikes!! 8y
MrBook @Graciouswarriorprincess @JanuarieTimewalker13 Good convo 😎👍🏻👍🏻! @minkyb Ooh, nice 😁👏🏻!! @Apinlibraryland 😂😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! I showed Jen and we cracked up, sorry. It was so perfect 😁👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻! @Desha 😁👍🏻! @TheBookAddict 😁!! @MyNamesParadise Great insight, as always 😊👍🏻! @Ksvz I feel the same way sometimes 😎🙌🏻! @tpixie 😂👏🏻🙌🏻👌🏻!! 8y
MyNamesParadise @MrBook aww thanks 🤓 8y
Graciouswarriorprincess @Ksvz Aww, I am sorry. I do a lot of audiobooks when I am driving or exercising. It helps keep me focused. @MrBook 👍🏻😁 8y
MrBook @Graciouswarriorprincess Ditto 😊👍🏻. 8y

In my search for a good 2017 TBR challenge to help me tackle my own Mount TBR, I found several options. I thought I would share them with you here & in the comments in case you see anything you like. Ellsbeth Do you know of any other good TBR challenges? 8y
The_Literary_Jedi There's @BookishMarginalia #LitsyAtoZ challenge, the @bookriot Read Harder Challenge, @katytastic of @booksplosion has/had a good one too (BookTube) as did several other BookTubers 😃 8y
Ellsbeth @The_Literary_Jedi Those are good ones. I plan on doing #LitsyAtoZ & #ReadHarder. I'll look into the BookTube options. Thanks! 8y
8little_paws Are these all blog based? I don't blog. Are any of them hosted here as well? 8y
Merethebookgal The podcast I cohost on has a new reading challenge called the Mad Lib Reading Challenge where the titles of books you read are used in a Mad Lib story we created and it's going to be a lot of fun! Check out the hashtag #ERMadlibs and our Litsy page @EclecticReaders for more info! 8y
sprainedbrain Thanks for sharing these - they look interesting and fun. I'm doing #LitsyAtoZ, #ReadHarder, #ERMadLibs, and #LitsyReadingChallenge this year. Almost all of the books I have chosen for these are books I already own. 👍 8y
Ellsbeth @8little_paws None of the specifically TBR challenges I found are directly hosted on Litsy. However, most say to use any social media platform you want (blogs, Goodreads, Twitter, etc.) The issue comes if you need to link to your reviews as a requirement for participation, since you can't link to @Litsy posts or profiles. For those, I'll link to something else but mostly use Litsy with the right hashtag. 8y
Ellsbeth @Merethebookgal Thanks! I'll check that out! I did listen to the Blankets episode you recommended, as well as a few others. I enjoyed the episodes. 8y
Ellsbeth @sprainedbrain It's my pleasure. I thought if I was looking for TBR specific challenges, someone else might be as well. I am trying to do as much of the challenges I can with what is already on my shelves! 8y
APLitlife #litsyAtoZ is the one I am doing. Hosted by @BookishMarginalia 8y
Merethebookgal @Ellsbeth I'm glad you liked the episodes and hope you'll play Mad Libs along with us! 8y
