pickIt has been awhile since I have read this book. Ruby was a great character, that I could identify with. I enjoyed this book. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars. This is the fifth book completed for #RushAThon readathon hosted by @Andrew65

Movie: Honestly it makes me think of the episode of Friends when Ross gives his key to Mona and then changes the locks. It also reminds me of the episode of Friends when Phoebe and Mike exchange keys and Joeys like, isn‘t it amazing these little things open doors! 😂

pickI started out not liking Ruby, the same way I didn‘t like Remy, although her conflicting relationship with her mother struck a chord with me. Ruby‘s growth and changes throughout the story, along with her finding the definition of family, makes this a wonderful read. It is a little cheesy, reading like a classic 90‘s movie, but still enjoyable.

One thing I really love about Dessen‘s books is that you can find out what happened to other characters in her previous books. Like how Scarlett becomes a manager at the Jump Java and her, how Annabel gets her own time slot (because Owens timeslot is on Sunday at 7am and Ruby and Nate are driving to school on weekday). You even learn about Rogerson (still selling pot and no longer living with his parents).

Continuing #DessenNewYear with my hardback books. Maybe next Dessen Read Through I‘ll go by publication dates since some charcaters from previous books do make appearances in others.

pickI finished this last night and it was another hit for me from Sarah Dessen. She‘s definitely among my top 3 YA authors. This one is older, came out in ‘08, and I felt could have been a little bit “more” but overall I loved it.
I started all 3 of these yesterday. I‘m generally not a multi book reader so was feeling a little scattered. The Dirt is a reread and I might be old enough now that their shenanigans just strike me as....gross lol. HP is so dang huge that I‘m just going to tackle bits and pieces here and there. I foresee a TON of reading time this week as I can‘t leave my dog alone and he needs a fair amount of “watching.”

pickI really liked the book and I enjoyed reading it. I liked the characters, specially how they developed, like Ruby and I loved the way there were so many details that made the story special.
I loved Jamie and Nate, and Ruby was a nice lead character.
It's the biggest of Sarah's book I've read but it was totally worth it.
It's never something huge that changes everything, but instead the tiniest of details, irrevocably tweaking the balance of the universe while you're busy focusing on the big picture.
pickI've been on a Sarah Dessen kick the past few weeks. She's one of my favorite YA authors. She's certainly more PG with the romance which I prefer to be more heavy-handed, but it's still a joy to read. I felt the story dragged at times as well as became redundant but I thoroughly enjoyed the main plot and the characters. Certainly not my favorite Dessen book but I'm glad to add it my Dessen shelf.
pickI picked up this book for my daughter, but she picked a different book. So I decided to read it myself. I loved the characters, and she handles some different situations very well.
pickFinished this audiobook while working today. I'm sad there aren't more Sarah Dessen audiobooks in my library's Overdrive listings. I have enjoyed the two I just listened to.
Do you have favorite audiobook readers? I enjoyed the last Sarah Dessen book I read, and I discovered this one is read by Rebecca Soler. She read the Lunar Chronicles. I enjoyed her reading a lot so I'm giving this a listen. I'd love to know if you have favorites I can check out!

I'm a big believer of loving my books. If you find a pristine copy of anything on my shelf, it means I haven't read it yet. This is my all time favorite book and it's been everywhere with me. 4 different dorms, 2 colleges, a Florida apartment, a couple cruises, a California trip, and all over my high school. And still going strong.
But I was sure of something too: it‘s a lot easier to be lost than found. It‘s the reason we‘re always searching, and rarely discovered - so many locks, not enough keys.
