The cicadas are so loud, but it feels like a fall morning. I really hope that we're on our way to cooler weather. It's been rough not being able to sit out and read in the mornings due to the high humidity; today was a nice change. School and XC season has started back and I'm already stressed. Love the students but being around people wears me out and I haven't had the energy to read.

I picked up the Victoria Trilogía up years ago on Scribd and returned it unfinished (I think it may have been the last thing I borrowed off of the platform before I canceled my subscription.) Anyway, it turns out I must have read the first book in the trilogy because this is *all* familiar! Audiobook this time: Narrator not my favorite (I prefer old-school British narrators) but easy to get used to! #AccidentalReRead

pickThis is one of the most confusing plots I've ever read! Here fiction is mixed with the truth! After reading the middle, I didn't know what to believe and what not! The author confuses the reader and doesn't get out of the web of the plot almost to the end! I also liked the author's style: dialogues with the reader, humor! And I must reread #TheTimeMachine of Wells!

Read 174 pages of this beauty today! The synopsis led me to believe this was going to be more of a traditional time travel novel, but Mr. Palma has taken it in directions I wasn't expecting. It's nice not to be able to see where a book is going after reading multiple that felt like I could see the end coming a mile away.
Be warned, though, that Part 2 gets steamy. (Wells' reaction to this is priceless. 😂)
pickThis book really had me thinking. Very verbosely written with beautiful florid language. The epic writing at the beginning had me expecting, well... a very epic tale. It wasn't nearly as epic as I was hoping with many fake outs. Yet everything did tie together nicely in the end. I wanted more from the whole book but it was still a fun read. I'm thinking I will try and finish the trilogy.
Dinner reading. I'm intrigued by this book so far, but not totally sure on it yet...

Every December, my aunt and uncle's church holds a children's shopping day so all the local kids can find affordable gifts for the adults in their lives. Everything's $0.25, and volunteers wrap the stuff on the spot to preserve the surprise. I took another reading break to round up a boxful of potential presents, including a selection of as-new books.
In digging through my shelves for these books, I also found a couple for my swap partner! Yay!

I've fallen soooo far behind on my photo a day for #seasonsreadings2016. I don't have a single book in a foreign language, which is sad. But this trilogy was originally written in Spanish, #notinenglish. So, does a translation count?
