panThis was one of my #botm picks from May 2019. I guess I was excited about it when I picked it. Fast forward over 2 years later and I am wondering why I picked it. About half way through the book I wanted to bail on it but I didn‘t. I was waiting for something to happen that never did. I didn‘t like Violet or Stella. Oh well you can‘t love every book you pick up!
This was also my #bookspin book for this month.
pickGreat story! It wasnt so much of a thriller like I thought it was going to be but the story just read so easy and fast! I think the ending was proper.
Anytime its split into parts you know its drastically going to change!
Tried to nap but to no avail so back to my outside reading I go.
Enjoying the cool night air and devoring this one! Its going fast but when is the conflict coming?!

so-soTruly a ‘meh‘ book... overall well-written, but all of the main characters are awful and complete unlikeable... it truly just shows the worst aspects of “being ambitious”... it‘s not the worst, but I have read books of similar plots that have managed it much better than this one. ⭐️⭐️

so-soI was not impressed. I was expecting a twisty thriller and this was not it. Honestly, the sad thing is my favorite part was Violet‘s big story. I did not care for the references to sex or the language. I am disappointed I wasted my time on this. I think it does reveal that we all will do terrible things to succeed. @jenniferajanes I would not recommend reading it. There are much better books out there.
Here‘s the proof! @cjbooklover is hogging Necessary People, which *I* checked out from the library. She‘s also got The Silent Patient in her lap because she wants to read it before I turn it in. 😂😂😂

so-soI'm fickle. This one felt like a combo of so many other similar storylines I've read over the past couple of years. Nothing felt original and I didn't really care what happened to the characters. 🤷🏼♀️

pickI inhaled this over the course of 24 hours. I seriously hope that someone has optioned this because it would make a DYNAMITE summer soap. There was just so much bitchy fabulousness that I could not look away. 4🌟
pickThe haves and the have nots-Violet comes from nothing and works her ass off while Stella is privileged and given everything she wants. This one is a dark story of loyalty, jealousy, and friendship. Quick and easy read.
so-soI want to give this one 3.5 stars and it‘s somewhere between a pick and so-so. I feel like there could have been more build up and tension with Violet and Stella‘s relationship. I also wanted to hear more about Violet‘s past. At times it reminded me of #fashionvictim but didn‘t quite go that far

pickI inhaled this today! A slow burning (but super effective) tale of two frienemies, their ambition, and how it affects them both. I couldn't even tell you what I was hoping for by the end, but my heart was beating just a little too fast in a good way. Really happy with this #BOTM pick 👏🏽
pickWe all have that one friend that constantly competes with us, wants all of the attention and thinks they‘re doing you a favor by being friends. Stella is that person. The novel was an interesting take on the interdependence of friendship, especially when one friend starts irritating the other as in Violet‘s case. All she wanted was something of her own and to step out of Stella‘s shadow
pickThis May #BOTM read tackles the drama of the newsroom and also of unbalanced friendships in quite the page-turning fashion! I really couldn‘t set this down! And it made me thankful that I didn‘t pursue news networks with my journalism major! The plot has its predictable moments, but the characters feel real and in #TheEnd, I felt satisfied... despite some vile actions! #MayMovieMagic
Getting started on this tonight, I hope it's good. I have been reading a lot of not so great books recently.
Whew! After much deliberation, I've finally decided which *physical* books will be coming with me on the cruise. A couple of #BOTM picks, the only Karin Slaughter I haven't read yet, and some others that have been staring me down from my shelf. Not pictured are 15 freshly downloaded Kindle Unlimited and Libby picks. Suffice it to say that I'll not be lacking options on vacation! 😆🛳🏖

pickWow! This book! I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked it, but I'm so glad it did! It told the story of a side of friendship we don't see often. Jealousy...ambition....WTF moments! It was a slow burn for sure, but before you know it, you're in the story and can't stop. This is a story that will be with me for a long while. I highly recommend! #botm #triller #thatcoverthough

pickI liked this book and don‘t regret getting it for my BOTM pick, but it was definitely a slow burn. I felt like it took a long time to develop and get to anything exciting. The author did a good job of supplying an unreliable narrator and unlivable characters which really made the book interesting. I felt like there could have been more explanations and ideas explored, but overall, I liked this one. #botm
#botm came today! After they brought out the BFF program and I saw I wasn't part of it because I paused my account I was going to cancel. But when I went to cancel my account I saw that I was a BFF after all Do i decided Keep my account for a little bit longer. Am kinda sad that I didn't get one of the cool BFF book markers in my box!
My #BOTM arrived today and I seriously have mixed feelings about this one... I wasn‘t 100% sold on it because it sounds like a very familiar plot, but I am an optimist so fingers crossed it‘s a good one!! 🤩🤩
