🤓📚Up next…some shadow hunter adventures!
I refused to start this trilogy until I knew the last one was nearly out!
I actually picked up a gorgeous hardback version of this book at a charity shop for Q9.
I always love a shadowhunters story, it‘s a comfort read for me. Cordelia and Lucie are just fabulous.
A YA fantasy set in Victorian era, I enjoyed that this was a little Bridgerton with demons and magic, I never read the previous series but I enjoyed the cast of friends and their different qualities and drama, I will probably read the next one in this series
My wrap up of #20in4 read a little over 14 hours finished this book and only 2 hours away from finishing Monster We Defy, didn‘t make 20 hours but enjoyed all the reading that I did do!
March has been a real reading slump for me. It took all month to finish this: my audiobook borrow expired and then I had to borrow the ebook again to finish. Not as engaging as the Infernal Devices series, though continues the story with the next generation of Shadowhunters. Not particularly excited about the plot set up for the next book and the love triangle (quadrangle?) is just very bland compared to Will/Jem/Tessa. Slight pick.
About 30% into the audiobook of the first in this sequel series to The Infernal Devices. The book cover is a huge improvement, but I can‘t say I‘m super engaged with the story so far. It feels like there are too many characters and because they are the children of the previous generation they are hard to keep track of since they are all vaguely related and have similar names.
Book 1 in the Last Hours series. I found this to be a good escape. And perhaps enjoyed it more than earlier books. Started this awhile ago and decided to finish it real quick since I wanted it finished before the New Year. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 165.

SOS!! I am fairly new to the YA Supernatural genre. Haven‘t read any since the Twilight series when I was in high school. I have had MANY students recommended me these series. However, the Last Hours seems more intriguing to me than the others right now- AND THE COVERS 😱😍➡️📚 Is it ok to read the LH books before the others, to see if I enjoy the writing/ world building? Or do y‘all think I need to go in order of series chronologically?
I love the way she uses poems or just other writers phrases/verses. It says a lot of #CassandraClare
Happy Weekend Reading Beautifuls💙📖💙
Stay safe.
The latest series from Cassandra Claire, this one has the children from Will and Tessa, Gideon and Sophie, Gabriel and Cecily and finally Charlotte and Henry. It takes place during summer 1993 in London. Again fighting demons, family problems and romances. I did enjoy it. The next is out already Chain of Iron. #books
Unpopular opinion, I didn‘t really enjoy the Infernal Devices. It‘s my least favorite series so far that Cassandra Clare has written and so I figured I wouldn‘t enjoy this book. I was wrong. I loved this book! I loved all the characters and I could not put this book down. I loved all the friendships and romances and I found myself rooting for a great deal of them. Definitely among one of my favorites of this year. 5 stars, hands down.
This book was just as much of a ride the second time through! I love the friendships in Cassie's books so much. Can't wait for Chain of Iron to murder me dead!! #yalit #shadowhunters
🎧 Audible $6 sale. My first Cassandra Clare book. Now I have all of the Commune books, love RC Bray, great narrator, I‘m hoping it‘ll feel like Skippy‘s telling me a story. Last Extinction Cycle book, loved all of these books & HellDivers, great monsters.
Edwardian shadow hunters!
Cordelia is amazing and I love the cameos.
I think I like the past eras of shadow hunters (Victorian and Edwardian) better.
This was a good read and I do love the books by Cassandra Clare but there are a few too many characters in this. It lacked the chance to get to know them well. Hopefully it will develop in the next one. It was quite predictable much of the story but I enjoyed the journey. I would have liked more Will and Jem moments. It also needs more Magnus but that's because he's the best.
6pts for #TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon2020

Another five hours today which gives me 8 hours for the whole weekend. Pretty good as I've been busy sorting bits out.
#October8in2 5hours = 50pts
#CYOReadathon 5 hours = 50pts
Plus 1 for participation so another 101 points for #TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon2020

Chain of Gold. Reminding me that Great Expectations is my least favorite of my read Dickens as if I needed the reminder (I like Dickens. Not really big on Great Expectations.) I still enjoy this world. But I really think the books would be served by a heavier edit to tighten.
I love these books. I liked that this one started out with Charles Dickens vibes. But I wish it had continued. And I love that she finally snuck some Persian culture into this one.
This was a good read. It took me a bit to get through but it reminded me how much I liked the shadow Hunter world.
“Those who mock fiction do so because they fear the truth” -Cordelia Carstairs
Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
Magnus Bane has arrived and immediately everything is better. 🥰
“With a start, he realized that in his vague imaginings of the future Cordelia had always been there, a steady, welcome presence, a warm light in the dark of the unknown.” I ship them so hard😭😭
Here we go again. Every time I say I‘m done with Shadowhunters, Cassandra Clare pulls me right back in. It‘s an addiction I just can‘t quit. 😅 Hoping this one is better than the ending to TDA.

In a frantic birthday gift hunt for my friend who loves books about vampires, all I could find at the book shop which came even close were these 2 books above.
And OH! those covers!!!!
I thought they would make a beautiful gift.
After searching on Ebay I purchased a 9 book bundle of books by Kristin & P.C. Cast & another set by Richelle Mead, which I think suit my friend better.
Well, I can't stop thinking about the above...so I borrowed them!!
I love my Shadowhunter candy even when it‘s thin on plot and character development. #audiopuzzling
This is the rainiest Canada Day I can remember. Happy #CanadaDay to all the Can Littens out there! Hope there‘s some time to curl up and read today!
#IntegrateYourshelf @ChasingOm @Emilymdxn I like analyzing what I read. I need to do a better job of making sure I read more diversity.

Only 20%. My goal is to get to 30% by December.
I missed the Herondale, Lightwood, Fairchild, and Carstair families! I love all of them with my soul. While I was reading this I forgot how much I missed Will and I'm so happy to see him again (but also sad bc he's getting old 😭)
"Do not let those who cannot see the truth tell you who you are. You are the flame that cannot be put out. You are the star that cannot be lost. You are who you have always been, and that is enough and more than enough. Anyone who looks at you and sees darkness is blind."
Not gonna lie, I cried during this part.
I get beyond sad when Will and Tessa are mentioned. Or are present in what's going on
I love the cover of this book, but that was about all I loved of it. There were too many characters who were all trying to be the main character and as a result, they were all one dimensional. This was a thick book, but there was really no plot to it. There's so many love triangles in it. It was more like a soap opera than a fantasy book. I do really enjoy her books though, so I'm hoping this was just a fluke and it'll get better the next book.
Wow. That‘s really all I can say. I absolutely loved this once I got familiar enough with the characters to tell who‘s who. It wasn‘t very heavy with the plot but I actually liked that it was more about the characters as all of them were very interesting. An absolute joy to read and I can‘t wait to get my hands on the next one! #shadowhunterchronicles
I‘m finally making some progress in this! I‘m really enjoying the story and all the new characters so far. I can‘t wait to see where this goes! #shadowhunterchronicles #currentlyreading
Cassandra Clare's Chain of Gold took me right back into the world of the Shadowhunters. Set after the events of The Infernal Devices trilogy (and after short story collection Ghosts of the Shadow Market), Chain of Gold picks up with the generation after Tessa, Jem, and Will. The book has all of the elements that make Cassandra Clare an auto-buy author for me: brilliant world building, compelling romance, ⬇️
You would really think that I'd be tired of reading about Shadowhunters by now, but I'm totally not. I am absolute trash for Cassandra Clare's writing. There's just something about the way she writes her characters that makes me really care about them. This is the first book in her Last Hours trilogy and now I am desperately excited for the next book! 📚💕

Diving in to the next trilogy in the Shadow-hunter world. I loved the Infernal Devices trilogy which were set in Edwardian London like this book. Hopefully I will love this one too.
