After finishing the Mortal Instruments earlier this year, I decided to continue with the Shadowhunter books. But realised I didn't read these 4 short stories yet. So I worked these short stories in, between my reading so that I can start The Eldest Cures next.

I enjoyed most of the stories in this compilation.

I'm not normally big on short story collections, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. The chapters on Peru were probably my least favourite. The further I got in the book, the more I enjoyed the stories and how the connected with the other Shadowhunter books.

I'm not enjoying this as much as other books in the shadowhunter world, but only 17% in, so maybe it will improve.

Well this just solidified my dislike towards Magnus Bane. I seriously hate this man, he is gross, creepy, selfish, and oh so absolutely not funny. I listened to all the stories, and they just progressively got worse. I really only like a small small small part of this massive world that Clare has created. But this is my absolute least liked character.

I love Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood. I can't think of many literary couples who are gay, biracial, successful, and in love. There's like 10 short stories in here that is about Magnus and his many adventures over the years.

So i was just telling myself how cute Malec is and wondered a question ive been wondering since i started shipping them. Which is taller? I think Alec but it could be Magnus. Facts suggest both.

It may not be the healthiest way to handle life, but it‘s a pretty great sentiment.

A whole book of stories dedicated to my favorite warlock with stories including one of my favorite magical couples. I am glad I didn‘t read this until all the stories were rolled into one book. It is a fun read and solidifies Magnus as one of the best characters of the Shadowhunter series.

I‘ve been in a reading slump for soo long I felt it is time to try and pick up a book again. So I‘m starting with this collection of short stories, nice and easy.

Giggled too much through this one.

Been reading this here and there because I decided to read 4 books at a time 😂🙈 about 200 pages left though.

The stories weren't in chronological order; rather, they were grouped by common threads of people or experiences. It made the timeline quite confusing. Of course, Magnus is fabulous. He is a good character on which to end my Shadowhunter binge.

I'll take " rejected Panic! At the Disco lyrics" for 1000, Alex.
Seriously. What a chapter title!

Taking a brief break after all with this, in between books one and two of the All Souls trilogy...I wanted to save the other Shadowhunter novels for the summer, but I‘m not sure I can wait that long!! After this, I think I‘ll reread TMI 1-3 before 4-6 (which I haven‘t read at all). I have the Red Scrolls waiting as well, along with Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy. It never ends 😂 Not that I want it to!!

I love all things Magnus Bane. Add in some Raphael Santiago, some Catarina Loss, and some Alec Lightwood and I'm sold 😍 Especially some Alec. I'm so here for Malec.

This was a lovely trip back into Shadowhunter world. The stories with Bane and Alec were my favorite, and the story Andrew Scott narrated was 🔥. Andrew Scott should narrate everything!
This collection of short stories makes me want a full length Magnus Bane book. He deserves it.

I really enjoyed this addition to the Mortal Instruments universe. It includes characters from TMI as well as Spoilers for some.relationship things that occur in the series so I'd suggest reading it after finishing the series.

Hanging with Magnus today. He's easily one of my favorite characters from these series.

As much as I love Magnus Bane in the rest of the books, this ended up falling a little flat for me. I think it's the structure of it, mainly - there's not really a point to the collection other than just to tell some anecdotes of his life. You're not working toward an end. Some of the stories were great, but some felt kind of thin. Ah well. Now I can read the final TMI book and eventually move on to the Dark Artifices 😬 3/5 ⭐️

I don't know what group of terrible people thought THIS was how Magnus Bane should look, but I hope they all got fired. I couldn't even stand to have this awful face on my Instagram. It looks nothing at all like how I pictured him, and is just sleazy and gross and cheesy AF. Magnus is the BEST and this art is an insult to his awesomeness. #nowreading

I finished The Bane Chronicles and honestly I found each story enjoyable! 4/5⭐️ I enjoyed this a lot! Four of the stories were 3⭐️, three stories were 4⭐️ and four stories were 5⭐️.

I've decided to read this one before I continue with The lies of Locke Lamora!

I went to go grab the book tagged and found 2 more for #spinofflove in the process! #backtoreading

This is between a so-so and a pan for me. 2 ⭐️. The early stories were amusing, but the second half of the book was just tedious. Most of the narrators were bearable, but there were a couple that were absolutely horrible. I'm glad it's over.

This has definitely been a Cassandra Clare summer for me so far! I'm liking the short story collections.

...and the migraine monster strikes again. At least I can listen to an audiobook for #24in48 while the aura blurs my vision. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That being said, it is probably no surprise that I really enjoyed these short stories... it's fun to hear little snippets of his 300+ years of being fabulous.

My favorite stories were the ones with Alec (obviously), but I also loved revisiting Will, Tessa, and Jem, and Raphael and Ragnor. So much love for this world! ❤️

Really looking forward to the 'adult' Magnus series coming next year.
