Sharing a hotel room with my mom and she snores like a freight train. I guess it is time for me to put my earbuds in and let the claming voice of Neil Gaiman tell me a bedtime story.

Finished my April #doublespin just in time for next month‘s drawing tomorrow! I‘m a huge Gaiman fan, so while I didn‘t like all of these short stories and poems, I‘m glad I read them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I would listen to Neil Gaiman read a new york city phone book. Including the ads. I swear he'd make it interesting.

I hate short stories.

But when it's Neil Gaiman, I make an exception.

I almost always love Neil Gaiman, but I found myself feeling much more “meh” on these short stories. I find myself being drawn out of a tale when I have to constantly remind myself that the rest of the world might be as obsessed with sex as these characters are when I am not. Once or twice I can deal with this interruption, but when the second part of your book is filled with unasked for smut... I tend to lose interest. #bookjournal

I will *never* not read a Gaiman book. This isn‘t my favorite collection, but I still enjoyed it. Chivalry, The Price, Troll Bridge, The Facts in the Case of the Departure of Miss Finch, and Snow, Glass, Apples were among my favorites!

I had the craziest dream last night! Neil Gaiman was a repair man and came to my apt building to fix a leak in the laundry room. (I feel like this had the potential to turn into a sexytime dream and I'm not sure whether to be relieved or disappointed that it didn't! 😂) So I had him to sign my books. I woke up and was sad that I don't actually own any signed Gaiman books! 🤣 I decided to read some Gaiman today in honor of my wacky dream! 💕📚😁

Was #audiocoloring, then got distracted by @MidnightBookGirl‘s post about Neil Gaiman‘s “Nicolas Was,” so I had to go read it. You‘re right, that was so creepy! I had to read it a couple of times. Definitely makes an impact. I think I loved it.

Took a Litsy break for awhile. Work was crazy then went through some personal stuff, but I‘m starting to post again!

I extended my Screamathon reading into November because work overtook my life in October. Had to post a review for this which I got from @bullbunny in the #ScreamathonSwap!

I loved this collection. I read Fragile Things first, but this was much stronger. Several of these stories will stick with me.

I did not walk the past few days (yoga and Pilates classes). Today my walking was indoors. I started a 12 week program at my local hospital. I did about 2 miles on the different machines. I took a pic on the sidewalk near my car on the way out.

Not my favorite collection of his stories but there were still some great gems hidden in there. My favorites were probably "We Can Get Them for You Wholesale" and "Snow Glass Apples".

Book 2 of post-trip catch-up: I lurve Neil Gaiman; but I'm not keen on this collection, overall. I hope I won't feel the same about the other short story collections (Trigger Warnings and Fragile Things, both of which I own, as well). Some of the stories were amusing or clever. A lot of them were too sexually graphic (and I have a high tolerance in that regard). [read 11/9-11]

Finished this one up today while participating in the #12inTwo, my stupid timer reset itself sometime after 10 hrs. I really enjoyed this, as in every short story collection I liked some better than others but the topics were all so varied and well written, it was a great way to get out of my reading slump.

Fairy tales, as G.K. Chesterton once said, are more than true. Not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be defeated.

Book #75 of the year. This was a re-read for me. It was probably the first Gaiman I had picked up. I quite liked it.

A hit or miss fantasy short story collection. Some were based on myths. Some had some very thought-provoking ideas. But some of the stories were a slog.

This was our 4:00 AM feed listen this morning and I loved it. I‘m a big Neil Gaiman fan but haven‘t read this #shortfiction collection in years (so many, I forgot I had) so I was pleasantly surprised by this story. Gaiman tends towards darker work much of the time; it was nice to listen to some of his lighter material.

Neil Gaiman is one of my absolute favourite authors and this book of short stories and poems was purely delightful. I love his range of subject matter and variety of characters. He also has such a quirky take on things, I am always excited to see where his stories will go.

First exposure to Neil Gaiman. I'd always wondered what all the fuss was about. Then again, Levar could read the phone book and I'd listen. But you don't have to take my word for it. #morningcommute #podernfamily

These are what I *thought* were my final 3 adult fics left of gaimans, then i discovered interworld which is a whole other trilogy i didnt even know about 😲 has anyone read it? Thoughts?!

This is not what I expected. I've read like 200 pages and some stories are too short, and others too long. Also most of the long stories are irrelevant. Idk, I'll keep reading and see what happens. 😯

I've only read 91 pages for now but I'm liking it. I don't know how it will end but for the moment yeah, recommended.

Short stories can be fairly hit and miss. Usually, even with the best writers, there's a couple of good stories in any collection, some mediocre ones, and a couple of stinkers.
Gaiman seems to be the exception to this rule. I love every one of the tales in this collection. He pitches a perfect game, which is no small feat.

I've just recieved this book. It's going to be re-edited here in Spain so it's a kind of ARC and I love when I can read ARCs! I've searched information about this book and I really like what I found! I'll tell you about it soon 👼

Oh to have a job where I just got up and did what I wanted and got paid for it!

Some of these stories were terrific and some I didn't finish. I guess that is a so-so for me. This was my first Gaiman reading and I'm wondering which of his novels I might try? I'm not a super fan of fantasy, so it would need to be relatively grounded in a plausible reality. (The weird thing is I do love children's fantasy; I'm not a consistent human being. 😏)

Going on a little trip for a few days and this is one of the books I'm taking with me because it's short stories. I also ha The Shifter King by @HeatherKilloughWalden that I'm half finished with and NOS4A2 by @joe_hill Bring on the reading!

Advice needed: I prefer paper books. But we camp for 2 months each summer and I can't take stacks of books. I usually have one I'm reading and one or two on deck. I always have a niggling worry I won't have something enjoyable next and we aren't in areas where bookstores are easily accessible. Question: do I pay for an e-reader knowing I may not use it the rest of the year? Note, I haven't tried one in several years.
