Currently reading this with my grade 10; they seem genuinely interested. This will be their first time reading a dramatic text, so I‘m excited too.

I only got 29000 steps this week due to rain and feeling poorly. On the World Walking app, when you put in your steps you see the street views. I think I am close to Kjerkgårdshagan on Hwy 31. It isn't the same as traveling, but it is motivating me to walk. #FoodandLit @Texreader @Catsandbooks #BFC2021 I did meet my water intake goal every day this week. @wanderinglynn

wanderinglynn That‘s so fun! I may have to try that app. 4y

#BeautifulWords Day 14: So #halcyon means “denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful.” FB memories shows me that same day today four years ago I was spending time with my childhood friend and her Norwegian husband in Bergen. 💕🧚🏼‍♀️😍

Happy Norway day!❤ For the first time since the German occupation all children's parades and public celebrations are cancelled, but we still have to celebrate our awesome constitution, so I put on my national costume and will be distance celebrating with good food all day. Whether today is a special or just another ordinary day in your life, I still wish you a good one 🥳😃

#wondrouswednesday @Eggs

1. Norway (9 times), England (2 + Wales), Mexico (2), Switzerland, Denmark, The Netherlands
2. Mountains
3. The Redwood Forests
4. This took some research. Where (and when) would I want to be? I‘d love to experience the place and time when the Wright Bros were learning to fly. So I would pick David McCullough‘s Wright Brothers‘ time and place.

Asthecroweflies I‘ve always wanted to go to Norway! Did you enjoy it? Was it as beautiful as it is in pictures? 5y
Eggs Norway 🇳🇴👏🏻🤗👏🏻 5y
Texreader @Asthecroweflies It is the most gorgeous place I‘ve ever seen (even better than the Swiss Alps) so long as you go during the three good months (late May-July) and hope for good weather. This summer we had one lousy cold wet miserable week and one splendid week. If you scroll through my posts back to early July you will see my daily posts from Norway. 5y

AnneCecilie We have more than 3 good months 😉 there‘s something good about every season 😊 5y
Texreader @AnneCecilie I‘m certain that‘s true! But it‘s what my husband famously says when he gets homesick and pretty much what I‘ve experienced. But then I‘m a Texan so the wet and cold don‘t set well for me. I dearly love your country—but my goodness it has some extremes! 5y
AnneCecilie Certain areas have more bad weather than others, especially the west and the north. They have fall and winter storms. If you live in the east, you are much more protected from bad weather, mainly because the weather have to pass the mountains in the middle. Also any temperature over 22 C is too hot for me and I will complain until it goes away 😊 5y
Texreader @AnneCecilie That makes sense! I‘ve wanted my sister in law (she‘s Finnish married to my husband‘s brother) whom I love dearly and we have so much in common to visit us in Texas but it seems she knows she cannot stand the heat. Even our winters are not consistently cold. So I cherish my time with her when we are in Bergen. So, um, yea we have some extremes here too. I wish the trip wasn‘t so long; we‘d probably keep a cabin there if so 5y

Ahhh, the pleasure of unpacking souvenirs. The top puzzle of Trondheim was a gift from family, and the bottom one of Bergen was a purchase. Cannot wait to build them!!!

Crazeedi You're home! Welcome! The puzzles look fab!! 5y

TheSpineView Love those puzzles! 🤩 5y
Texreader @Crazeedi @brit91 @TheSpineView Thank you! Yes our reunion with Midnight has been very special. She normally runs off to let us know she‘s mad when we get home from an absence. But this time she came running to each of us. And I can‘t begin to tell you how much love she‘s given me—she quadrupled lap time with me! ❤️❤️❤️ 5y
Crazeedi @Texreader aww, I know what it's like to come home to fur friends!❤ 5y

We are home now. Flying home is the worst; no designated time for sleeping over the ocean, and going thru US Customs takes forever! We were awake well over 24 hours by the time we got home—so exhausted, and despite taking two types of meds I got motion sick toward the end of the last leg. Our cat was desperately happy to see us as were we to see her. I will miss posting my beautiful photos here. Thanks Littens for sharing our trip with me. ❤️

julesG Enjoy home and your bed! It was a pleasure to share your trip, virtually if not literally. 5y
TrishB Loved your pics 💕 5y
GingerAntics Loved your pics. I hope you get some sleep now that you‘re home. That‘s a long time to be up, especially if you‘ve got jet lag to go with it. 5y

Megabooks Glad you‘re home safely! I‘m sorry the trip home was rough, but it looked like you had an amazing time!!! 5y
CarolynM The trip home is always hard😁 I loved seeing your pics, thanks for sharing. Hope the jetlag isn't too bad. 5y
Texreader @julesG @trishb @GingerAntics @meganbooks @carolynm Thanks y‘all! I am loving my bed. I took a few naps yesterday. I‘m loving not hearing seagulls screaming outside our hotel windows (having a view of fjords has its drawbacks). It was an amazing trip but there‘s no place like home 5y

Texreader you were in Norway?? Omg, we just spent the last two weeks there. Where in Norway did you go? 5y
BookishMarginalia @Texreader This time we were only in Olden and Ålesund 5y
Texreader @BookishMarginalia We spent a couple days in Ålesund. We went to Trondheim where my husband was born, then drove down thru Ålesund (staying a couple days) to Bergen to see his family. So you go regularly too? This was my 9th trip 5y

I read this book for school in German class a few years ago. I hated it. But it's actually pretty good and gives you a feeling of melancholy. I am going to Norway to see the Northern Lights soon and I think about this book even more. Guess sometimes everyone needs to reflect a book longer. It's worth to read it.
