I always forget how much I enjoy the #1 Ladies detective series as it can be months in between them. Back to working Saturdays so I‘m leaning into comfort reads at the moment with cozy mysteries, Hobbit reread and Last Garden in England for #LMPBC.
pickI love the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series. It‘s like sitting down to a long meaningful conversation with an old friend. I want a Mma Ramotswe in my life. She is such a stabilizing force.
My second finish for #OutstandingOctober
pickMma Ramotswe is a bit surprised when Mr JLB Matekoni asks to solve a case. Liked how we saw a bit more of the interior lives of Mr JLB Matekoni and Mma Makutsi, as well as the apprentice Charlie. Love how the relationships between characters are explored in this series, as well as the plots. Another good read.

There is some restlessness in the office, leading to some changes in staffing. Mr. JLB Matekoni tries his hand at being a detective. And everyone learns a bit about trust.
I love the way Smith portrays human emotions and tendencies, and his quiet wisdom. These books always bring me a sense of peace.
It‘s bed time, and Sietje is sleeping already.
I love this series, and I can‘t wait to see the author speak at #TXBookFestival2019.

pickI am putting my thoughts here, speaking for the entire series: Each is wonderful! I have finished all the published volumes - and now just grab each new one as it comes out. I have read some and listened to others on Audible..... frankly, although I do enjoy the reading, the audibles add so very much that I now use it only. The narrator, and the pronunciation of words, adds SO much! I have a much more vivid image of each vignette.
Hubby is clearly shooting for husband of the year. Even though he isn't 100% recovered from his crud, he is taking such good care of me. Picked up my meds, did the grocery shopping, and some cleaning. And now he's brought me ice tea and dark chocolate. No, I'm not trading with anybody 😊
Mma Ramotswe kept me company for 3 hours while I cleaned & decorated! My house is so happy & sparkly now.
Listening while I get out the Christmas ornaments and decorations!
