I hibernated this one a few months ago but I‘m glad I came back to it. I love that Picoult‘s daughter came up with this story idea & they wrote it together. A sweet, YA romancy/fantasy story that also has characters who‘ve experienced serious & life changing events.
My first read for September and I‘ve already started the sequel.

My first thought was that this book was too middle grade for my current mood but I quickly read to the creativity in the story and had fun reading about a book that when the pages are closed have a life different than the roles they play in print. Beware, characters may be watching you if you keep your book open between readings! It must have been a blast for mother and daughter to spin this yarn.

Have you ever read a book and wanted to talk to the character? Well then this book is for you. It was a quick read. But it was alright.

I can‘t figure out why this book doesn‘t deserve a higher rating. It reads quickly (was able to finish it in two evenings), but I guess it just didn‘t really seem to come together for me. The premise is very intriguing, however it‘s very hard to make a believable method of making a character come to life, at least without using magic!

I really needed this book when I read it. It just transported me into a different, kind of weird, world. I definitely wouldn‘t have written it the same way, but it did the job of transporting me, which is what I was looking for.

The illustrations in this book are just so fun! I accidentally left this book in Madison, WI when I was visiting my sister and being home in Chicago now, the novel appeared on my dresser. It‘s been wonderful reacquainting myself with it. 🤴🏻🔥🐠🧚🏻‍♀️

This is a fun book where the reader can communicate with the character in the book. I like the sentence where they use LISTEN instead of HEAR. There‘s a big difference between hearing something and really listening.

This book is fun. I love these little drawings that show up every few pages. Such a great visual parallel to the story!

I was going through the books I bought last week from the thrift store and putting my library stamp and look what I found!!!! A signed copy from Jodi Picoult who is one of my top 5 fav authors!!!

Sigh😍😍😍I am such a YA sucker sometimes but I absolutely loved this book! Who hasn‘t wished a fictional character could not only talk to us but pop off the pages into our world. This books is sweet with beautiful illustrations. I am glad I have the sequel on hand to start reading.

Hung out with my mom & sisters- @GloVerdino & @JuliWilliams - today at the NY Sheep and Wool Festival (Rhinebeck!!). You‘re wondering how this is book related, right? Well, we are all wearing items knit from yarn dyed by Jodi Picoult‘s sister in law. The colorway for two of them was inspired by the tagged book. We saw the dyer walking around the festival and showed her our creations, but didn‘t get a picture. #knittersoflitsy

Not my favorite Picoult, but certainly a cute teen read.

Between the Lines inspired yarn for my latest project. Making a shawl to wear to the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool festival with yarn my sister, @JuliWilliams , got me for Christmas. Has anyone read the book? I think I need to read it before Rhinebeck this year!

I felt like this was such an adorable story! A little adolescent for my usual tastes, but I loved it. Delilah is delightful, Jules is kick-ass, and Oliver is adorable!

MY favorite mother daughter duo is Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer. To be able to write and create with your mother is amazing. #700club @Jas16

And for the first time, the character fell in love with the reader...

I love this book & the sequel so so so much! I'm really debating on re-reading this beautiful book. I love the cover & the prince inside of it. The characters in this beauty are amazing & so fun to read about. The prince is such a dreamy chracter, lol. I love the animals in it too!! If you love reading and wish that characters could come to life out of your books, you'll enjoy this 😍❤

Spent a little time on Wednesday getting our library into Winter mode. Loved finding something secular and book related this year!

This book is nothing like I'd usually pick, but it was so dang cute. I'm thankful that I was able to finish reading it while in the tub after Thanksgiving dinner. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Really good and very relatable

I really enjoyed this book. It is a very easy read as it is written for younger readers, but I really liked it and can't wait for my daughter to read it too.

I've always wanted to read a story where the main character falls in love with the reader. And this literally happens within this book! She's obsessed with a fairy tale and falls in love with the main character. He talks to her and they try to find away to get him out of the story. Great book!

Everyone deserves a happy ending.
