A delectable read. Bestselling author Shelley Freydont Lucy Berberian has taken over her familys Mediterranean restaurant on the Jersey Shore after an unsatisfying stint at a Philadelphia law firm. Its great to be back in her old beach town, even if shes turning into a seasoned sleuth . . . Catering a high-society wedding should bring in some big income for Kebab Kitchenand raise its profile too. But its not exactly good publicity when the best man winds up skewered like a shish kebab. Worse yet, Lucys ex, Azadwhos the restaurants new head chefis the prime suspect. But she doesnt give a fig what the cops think. He may have killer looks, but hes no murderer. She just needs to prove his innocence, before he has to go on the lamb . . . Recipes included! Clever and charming . . . Its a culinary delight that will have readers salivating over the food and hungry for literary answers. RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars, on Hummus and Homicide

Based on Goodreads reviews, I‘m clearly in the #unpopularopinion category here, but I was so disappointed. I enjoyed the 1st in the series, but this one was just...boring. It felt like a bad Hallmark mystery movie and ugh, the love triangle. There are few things I hate more than love triangles. The only reason I finished this was to check off the baked goods on the cover challenge prompt. With this book Winter is done for #Booked2021!

Cinfhen You could have bailed and we still would have counted it 😁still think it‘s an awesome title 4y
DGRachel @Cinfhen It‘s an awesome title, which contributes to the disappointment. 😆 4y
Hooked_on_books Some cozy titles, like this one, are just so much fun! I really like that about the genre. 4y

A coworker and I just cackled together about this one. 🤣

It makes me ponder writing a cozy mystery myself. About 12 years ago I started writing one during NaNoWriMo... starring a ballerina in San Francisco. Not that I actually know anything about ballet though. It was just inspired by the fact that six-year-old me wanted to grow up to be a detective ballerina. 🕵🏻‍♀️🩰

What would your cozy mystery focus on if you were going to write one??

MayJasper Garden designers at the Chelsea Flower Show. Very competitive! 4y

heikemarie I think teachers make great detectives - we are always trying to figure out whodunnit anyway (graffiti in the bathroom, papers without names on them....) 🤓 4y
MaleficentBookDragon A photographer or a news reporter. 4y

Pickpick

I finished this one over my lunch break today. It was a good #cozy mystery. I was kept guessing about #whodunit until the end! These are the Valentine‘s Day/Anniversary flowers my awesome boyfriend sent me. Isn‘t he fantastic? 🥰 Happy Valentine‘s Day everyone!

I took this at lunch today then promptly forgot to post it. Oops! This is the second one in the series. So far it‘s better than the first! #lunchtimereading #alittlelate
