This plot seemed a little convoluted but still, I love the characters and the whole premise. Casey's sister will be an interesting addition to further plots I imagine. Could have used more Anders time 😏

pickThe 4th installment in the Rockton series picks up exactly where the 3rd concludes- those events necessitate a doctor and Casey convinces her own sister, April, to come to the remote Yukon Territory town. But April‘s isn‘t the only new face and soon Casey and Dalton are investigating a whole new murder- while still dealing with the aftermath of the violence of the preceding book! It‘s not as tense but complexly plotted and full of excitement!
pickI am quickly making my way through this series since I received an ARC of the latest to be released in February. While the mysteries are always somewhat convoluted, I read these for the characters and fascinating setting. 4/5 stars.

Solid mystery with interesting characters and plot that takes place in a hidden town in the Yukon. Limited resources, uncooperative citizens, and danger everywhere.
Armstrong is an author I enjoy a lot. Generally, if her name is on it, I‘ll like it. Definitely the case here. Gonna look for book 5 now...

Got my BookOutlet order today! I was so excited to find this in paperback, but it looks so different from the rest of the series and is so much larger I got concerned it was large print. But no, just Canadian. 😆

Oysters and prosecco and a great book all make me smile #booksandbooze (and yes, I have been reading this book for too long. I've somehow finished three audiobooks while reading it, which means I definitely need to treat myself to more reading time!)
How have I not read this, the fourth mystery in one of my favorite series? Finally digging in!
pickI love this series! Each books is packed with so much action and trying to figure out who the killer is. There is so many outside factors for Casey to consider even out in the wild. And we get to know about Casey life more and are introduced to her sister in this book.
Can‘t wait for the next book!
pickI love following the story of Casey Duncan, her boyfriend and boss Dalton, their partner Will, and all of the residents of the secluded civilization of Rockton. Casey is a kick butt female protagonist and I will never get tired of reading about her story. I will continue to read this series as long as Kelley Armstrong will write them (hopefully for a while)!
pickI love taking a trip to the town of Rockton to see how Kelly Armstrong has changed it, since the last time I visited. A U.S. Marshall finds Rockton. Before Casey and Eric can wrap their minds around how, the Marshall is shot dead.
Stuck inside today, since dad-in-law is spraying. Chores are done. Sitting down to hopefully finish this book with these two keeping me company. Max on my lap, Spot asleep at the end of the couch. Hope all Litsy's have a great day!

pickKelley Armstrong, and Casey “Butler”, continue to boggle me, overturning expectations I thought I had for what could feasibly happen next in Rockton. The innovation here was welcome, though just on the cusp of being believable, I was still on the edge of my seat for the entire 350+ page volume. Despite having my rapt attention, I was, per usual, never on the right path to solving each new piece of the mystery that lands in the detective‘s lap.
My latest #LibraryHaul has me like 🤩 All my holds came in and I dove right into the next Rockton novel (tagged) because I‘m simply obsessed.

pick4th in the series, and the overall plot is just heating up. The novels stand alone well enough that I started at #2 and I chose not to read the first one. I‘d say the stage is fully set. Having enjoyed other books by the author, I expected paranormal elements. But no monsters so far. This series appears to be murder mystery fiction. As such, there is some violence, but I didn‘t find it overly descriptive or gratuitous.

A good addition to the Rockton series with Casey following up on issues from the last book as a stranger shows up claiming to be a U.S. Marshall there for one of Rockton's residents & causing all kinds of new troubles for Casey & Dalton. Some interesting new characters to meet including Casey's estranged doctor sister, smuggled in to help. Looking forward to #5 👍📚
Starting Friday of a long week with my first cup of Christmas Blend of the season & a seasonal Pistachio-Honey Croissant. ☕️🥐I wanted one of the free red reusable cups, but I got here at 7:00 AM the store was out of them by 5:00 AM. 😮Oh well... A chapter or two of my current read before work.

It is Saturday! ?starting the morning before errands at my happy place. We've had a bit of a rain dump the last few days & seats down by the water are damp-but it's too nice to be inside so I'm hanging out on the upper patio with cold brew with coconut milk & a deviled ?stuffed with jalapeño hummus.
