I adore this book. I'm so devastated that I finished it! I will miss Eleanor terribly! She has inspired me to make more of an effort to be kind!.....and funny!.....and understanding!....and nice! I hope they don't wreck this story with a movie!

Belatedly seeing what all the fuss is about on the train home. Will I, a person who leaves the room during a cringey scene on the telly, be able to handle all of the second-hand embarrassment?

Starting my #litsypartyofone a little early today with this absolute gem of a book and some snacks.
I‘ve feel like I‘ve been reading this sooooooo slowly with both kids being sick recently, but I‘m loving it. I don‘t like to read my #lmpbc books when I can‘t concentrate on them fully, so now that I‘ve had a couple of good nights rest I think I‘m up for it.

Eleanor Oliphantis Completely Fine. What did you think? I enjoyed the journey but wasn't so keen on the ending. 🙃 I'd definitely still pick up another book by Gail Honeyman.

It's rare I come across a book which has me scream "YES! YES! You're so right!" approximately every two pages in between snorting with laughter and cringing in empathetic horror as the protagonist makes another social faux pas. The basic narrative arc is fairly easy to guess, but the fun (and the heartbreak) is seeing how Eleanor gets to her better place. "Mummy" has to be one of the most horrifically monstrous parents in literature. Superb.

JaclynW Excellent review! I loved this book too. 6y

Such a delightful book to read. While the topic was a little heavy, it was so well written I couldn‘t put it down. Eleanor was a funny and interesting character and I love the friendship she developed with Raymond. Very sweet book.

Well I can‘t say I didn‘t enjoy this book because I really did it‘s just there was something silly about it. It came across at times as trite and unbelievable or was that the humour and I just didn‘t find it funny.
But if you love finding humour in the big issues in life I think you‘d love this book.
Its a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ book from me.

Amazing! Tackles loneliness in a whole new way reminding us it is not just the elderly this effects. You can be stood in a room full of people and still feel such loneliness!

I adored this character and her blunt way of speaking. This story is about a woman who has to come to terms with her past. It takes us on a journey with Eleanor. Reccomend.
