🎧 *** REVIEWING HELLMOUTH! *** Interesting narration. Definitely a horror novel!
A ragtag group of medieval mercenaries head for a castle better suited to keep something in than out to retrieve a heretic for Mother Church.
Plenty of body horror, very descriptive & the narrator has a demon voice that I won‘t soon forget.
Enjoyable historical horror novella based on an actual place with an ending that bumped up the rating.

This was great fun! I got completely lost in the grit and grim of the Middle Ages. I definitely preferred the first half of the book, his childhood and teenage years were fascinating rather than Arthur and the endless battles. Overall a cracking read tho. 👍
I must admit, I was feeling pretty low after the Mists controversy. I was absolutely loving reading that book. But who can read on when you find that out about the author... Then I remembered I had another Arthur book on my shelf! 😀 so far it is really good! Yay 😁 👍

I have been on a book buying rampage lately!!! But at least they‘re all from my local secondhand shop so I‘m not spending too much! (That‘s what I keep telling myself any ways, it doesn‘t count when it‘s a bargain, right?) 😀 📚 💖
Started this. Already on page 300. Just the escapism I need. I was finding it hard to concentrate and this is such a delight right now. It reminds me of when I fell in love with books. ❤️📚
1 Absolutely, I dislike movie versions.

Yay- I‘ve found a new historical author. I loved this , even liked Lancelot in it. Previously I have always thought him arrogant and a bit of a pain.
Exciting take on the whole story, well told.

Started tagged book this morning and loving it so far! I think it‘s rekindling my romance with Arthur stories. The rest are some I may get to this week!
I'm really enjoying this retelling of King Arthur from the perspective of Lancelot - it's slow, but in a good way, and hopefully it'll pass the time until I board my 7 hour flight to Dubai 😴
1. Like Lancelot in the musical, I call it autumn or fall depending on which sounds better.
2. Thanksgiving food.
3. How about a nice walk in the woods instead?
4. No, but I‘ve driven through apple country at picking time with the windows open, and it smells wonderful.
5. I like pumpkin spice latte ... in October and November.
