I mean, the cliffhanger is real. This might be one of my favorite volumes so far, I think because of the intertwining of the various plot threads and their culmination. This series has so many memorable moments. My favorites are the emotional, reflective asides Hazel offers, and the ones in this volume really tug at the heartstrings.

There isn‘t much more to say than has already been said, but those last pages were gut wrenching. I want to pan this because of them, but I won‘t.

One of Saga's central themes is pacifism. Ironically, Marko's desire to avoid violence only leads to more of it. The other big theme is propaganda. The war between Wreath and Landfall only persists because both sides demonize each other and control the media. Vaughan has mastered the cliffhanger.

Amazing storytelling and artwork, as always.

Another good entry in the series.

I finished my 9-day SAGA reread this afternoon. In related news, I wept a whole lot.

I‘m gonna use A MAN AND HIS CAT to regulate my emotions before I read Vol 10 for the first time. People seem to agree it‘s both charming and heartbreaking, though, so this might backfire on me. Stay tuned for further comics-induced weeping, maybe?

Always a good time. Until it isn‘t. This was a reread since I just got Vol 10 last night!!! What a wait.

Well! With an ending like that, I'm exceptionally glad I didn't end up waiting the four years most readers just did for the next volume - just until it reaches my spot on the library hold list. 😭 Gripping story and fantastic (though regularly explicit and/or gory) art as always.

This cliffhanger has left me with OH MY GOODNESS…this is a really great series. I can‘t wait to see what happens next.

I love this series so much! My favourite character is Ghüs, that's why I just had to draw him.

I used to love this series. Now I'm just sad...and vaguely nauseous.

My traditional new year's day activity of spending some time looking back at what I've read the past year. Pictured are just a few of my favourites, and my stats. I'm pleased that my diverse book numbers continue to go up, but conscious that I still want to increase them. I'm also pleased that my tbr overall went down!

I don't think I'm going to set specific reading goals for 2021, just participate in some challenges.

Who let me read these knowing that ending?! 😭 I love this series and tried to space them out. I want more!!! So compelling. Not sure what to do with myself after finishing this really, it‘s so good with amazing artwork.

Finally read Volume 9 in the Saga series. Oh maybe I should use this as one of the top 20 series 🤔

I love this series so glad I finally picked this up. Heartbreaking ending and I need the next one now and who knows when that‘ll come out.

This volume is so sad and I‘m not gonna lie I‘m crying and don‘t know if I want there to be a volume 10. My heart hurts for all the characters and their families. Watching hazel narrate and grow up through this series is heartbreaking. you see how truly fast she has had to grow up in this world of hatred and evil. This one is an amazing story and gah the pain. I‘m just gonna go cry now and wait for volume 10.

I mean what!? Is this really how this ends!!!??? UGH I am so glad I read this series but so mad there isn't another one!

what I can I say. To everyone who still has this ahead of them: don‘t do it. vol 8 has a good ending, no need to do this to yourself. If you still decide to read it: you don‘t need to prepare to have your heart broken. But it will be torn out, stepped on and shattered into a million pieces😭😭😭😭😭😭

Just like the previous 8 volumes in this series of graphic novels, I loved every page of this one. My only complaint is that I have to wait so long for the next volume to find out what's going to happen next.
