The Governess Game
The Governess Game: Girl Meets Duke | Tessa Dare
Hes been a bad, bad rakeand it takes a governess to teach him a lesson The accidental governess After her livelihood slips through her fingers, Alexandra Mountbatten takes on an impossible post: transforming a pair of wild orphans into proper young ladies. However, the girls dont need discipline. They need a loving home. Try telling that to their guardian, Chase Reynaud: dukes heir in the streets and devil in the sheets. The ladies of London have triedand failedto make him settle down. Somehow, Alexandra must reach his heart . . . without risking her own. The infamous rake Like any self-respecting libertine, Chase lives by one rule: no attachments. When a stubborn little governess tries to reform him, he decides to give her an educationin pleasure. That should prove he cant be tamed. But Alexandra is more than he bargained for: clever, perceptive, passionate. She refuses to see him as a lost cause. Soon the walls around Chases heart are crumbling . . . and hes in danger of falling, hard.

It‘s a classic trope - a governess must care for young children under the guardianship of a lord that is a rake and not a good example. But in this case Alexandra isn‘t actually a governess, the children are hilarious at times and the rake is a more talk than action when setting up his den of sin. I loved this book!

mdemanatee I want her new one so bad with no ETA at this point last I‘d heard 3y
Asthecroweflies Tessa Dare is awesome at integrating humor into her romance novels! The one about her animal loving friend is hilarious too. 3y

Spent a very lazy rainy Saturday with this cute historical romance! Tessa Dare is always good for a light read, and this one about a governess who wins the love of her two charges and their hot guardian really warmed my Sound of Music shipper heart.

I adored this. I listened to the audiobook, which is narrated by the fantastic voice actor Mary Jane Wells.

I loved the heroine Alex and the hero‘s wards Daisy and Rosamund who have scenes that made me laugh aloud. The witty banter is on point.

The tension between Alex and Chase and the sexy scenes are 🔥. Highly recommend.

Alexandra Mountbatten is a clock-setter, but a twist of fate makes a job as a governess her only option to support herself. Her new charges, two unruly (and utterly delightful) young girls live with their guardian, an infamous rake with no plans to settle down. I loved the characters and their witty banter, which made me laugh out loud more than once.

I enjoyed this book, however I do think the first book was better. I enjoyed that the main character had to go through some hardships to get where she ended up.

I've been waiting on this one forever and finally got it! Clocksetter turned governess falls for a Duke and his wards. Everyone has issues that they must work on, and the group slowly becomes a family. Cute and fun, though I think I preferred the first in this series.

Lalalaloooove. Tessa Dare is always brilliant, but this was an instant fave (this series is just killing it). The characters are wonderful and so is the story. The humour and emotion and sex are all great. The kids are probably my favourite kids to appear in a romance novel (and this is from someone who generally likes the trope of kids and pets as secondary characters in romance novels anyway). I can't wait for another booooook.

In Romancelandia, we often get only the love story of the lead couple, and maybe some side characters. In this book we get all that, plus the love of friends and family.

Alex met a guy in a bookstore in The Dutchess Deal. We get to see them run into each other to wonderful and hilarious ends in this book. Chase needs a governess for his wards who are holy terrors with too much knowledge of illness. These kids are amazing and I am hoping we get some stories about them all grown up. There are some odd bumps but the story is so original in terms of the characters that I can ignore them. #romantsy

If I raved about The Duchess Deal, JUST WAIT. The sequel is absolutely even better. So witty and funny and Alex is an absolute treasure. I listened to it on audio and the narrator did the internal panic voice so, so well. 10/10, put it on your lists, if you love Tessa Dare, honestly just stop what you're doing this is better.

CoverToCoverGirl Haven‘t read anything by Tessa yet but I have this one and The Duchess Deal. Your rave review just bumped them way up on my list.. if you loved them I know I will! 😍 6y
theresidentromantic Read the Duchess Deal first! After reading that I went back and read all her books. They were ok, but these two are easily her best. 6y

I‘m FINALLY getting around to reading Tessa Dare‘s newest release, The Governess Game. I‘ve had this book since release day and even took it on vacation with me last week but still didn‘t manage to get it read. Anyone else get more reading done at home than on vacation? My vacations are always with family so we‘re either going out somewhere or spending time together doing something at the rental house.

I love Tessa Dare and I love this series specifically! Alex and Chase were funny and lovable and I so wanted their happy ever after by the end of this book. Dare does comedy in historical romances so well, the girls were a delight and honestly one of my favorite part of this book. I just want more, is Penny‘s story next?!?

I love Tessa Dare's books because they make my heart soar. This one is no exception. I adored Chase and Alex as a couple and Chase's young charges Rosamund and Daisy will steal your heart. Ms. Dare has this running joke about little Daisy's doll Millicent that will have you laughing for days! This is the second in the "Girl Meets Duke" serirs and it's my favorite so far. I have a feeling that Penny's story is next and I can't wait! ❤❤❤
