pick113/150 I'm glad I read this. I don't need to be starting a new series, but this was a lot of fun. The "rag-tag gang of misfits" is one of my favorite tropes, and I liked all the members of this crew, they all had distinct personalities, quirks and special skills. Also, although its Book 1, it doesn't leave you with a cliffhanger, so you can stop and enjoy one adventure with this crew. 4⭐⭐⭐⭐?

It was published in 2018 so maybe there are a few used copies available if you prefer a physical book and your local library doesn't carry it. Happy Reading!

For my book club on Habitica. So far it's entertaining but not in any way new or original in feel? Feels like it's riding on the coat tails of Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, Firefly, etc etc etc.
so-soNika Rik Terri is on the run from a company that wants to use her body exchanger. She was planning on leaving here abusive boyfriend, so this just gives her one more reason to run. Meanwhile, Josune Arriola is on a ship with Captain Hammond Roystan on a special mission, and runs afoul of the same company. Inventive SF with shades of Firefly, but the plot becomes chase scene after chase scene, and I just wanted to see a little more development.

pickAwesome. This book has a Firefly feel of found family and scrapes that require blowing things up. There was just enough action throughout the story for it never to get slow. Also, enough character to building to feel invested. The end left felt satisfying but left enough loose threads for a series. #FirsttoRead #ARC #2018christyread
