This was the first book aimed at middle grade/young adult that I read. Recommended by a friend after I lost my reading mojo with rom-com and other genres. This magical book opened up my eyes to a whole new world of fiction and I‘ve never looked back!

pickOkay, apparently I lied - THIS is my last book of 2019! This MG read totally sucked me in, at the expense of a lot of other chores I was supposed to get done this afternoon! 😁 Still, it put me over 14hrs for #24B42020 and is another #TBRread for #WinterGames PLUS my first read for #NewYearWhoDis !

pickI loved the front cover...that‘s what drew me in. This story really was magical in a fun way had a blazing my dark side too. This is the first book I‘ve read by this author, I‘ve already got the second one. I need more time to read! 🕰

pickAn absolutely delightful MG book that transports you to the island of Arranmore. Every generation the island picks a new Storm Keeper, someone to wield the island‘s power & keep its magic safe. Steeped in Irish folklore, this is a magical, well-written, eminently quotable story about the magic in the world around us, hope, family, courage, & more. I loved it & am excited the story will continue. Fionn is a great character. Highly recommended.

pickOur July Children‘s Book of the Month is the magical and wondrous The Storm Keeper‘s Island by Catherine Doyle. This is a beautiful but dark, wildly funny but emotional storm of a book that doesn‘t let you go.
