For fans of Gillian Flynn, Laura Lippman, and Paula Hawkins comes Holly Seddons arresting fiction debutan engrossing thriller full of page-turning twists and turns, richly imagined characters, and gripping psychological suspense. Some secrets never die. Theyre just locked away. Alex Dale is lost. Destructive habits have cost her a marriage and a journalism career. Amy Stevenson, who has been in a coma for fifteen years, forgotten by the world. Amy Stevenson, who, unbeknownst to her doctors, remains locked inside her body, conscious but paralyzed, reliving the past. Soon Alexs routine includes visiting hours at the hospital, then interviews with the original suspects in the attack. But what starts as a reporters story becomes a personal obsession. How do you solve a crime when the only witness lived but cannot tell the tale? Unable to tear herself away from her attempt to uncover the unspeakable truth, Alex realizes shes not just chasing a storyshes seeking salvation. ⭐️⭐️💫

This felt reminiscent of mysteries I have read before (but enjoyed much more), like “The Girl On The Train”. The coma patient‘s internal dialogue was sad and hard to listen to at times. I wasn‘t really surprised to find out the identity of her attacker.

I‘m in a bit of an audiobook slump. It feels good to finally check this book of my list, though - I got it a couple of years ago through an Audible sale! 🎧

Once a successful journalist, Alex Dale has lost her career and marriage to addiction. During her research for a freelance article, Alex meets Amy, a comatose woman her age, attacked at the age of 15 and left for dead, her attacker never caught. This was a solidly written debut psychological thriller/mystery. Engaging, intense, emotional read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank goodness for #netgalley #reviewathon for kicking my butt into gear to stop procrastinating.

Another new author for me in 2019
Holly Seddon🖋
Really enjoyed this psychological thriller which is Seddon's debut novel 📚
Will definitely be reading more from her. My next ebook will actually be her second novel - Don't Close You Eyes 🙂

I'm on a roll today. This one is a psychological thriller (or maybe technically a mystery) and it's really very good. Sorry the cover doesn't look terribly gripping. But it is.

This was only okay. Often reminded me too much of the Girl on the Train (which I liked), to the point of feeling unoriginal. A decent mystery, but not my favorite.

vandeblogger Good to know! I just read Girl on the Train, so now I can skip this one 😂 8y

I'm a little more than halfway through this and I like it so far. Feels a little too much like The Girl on the Train to feel totally original, but still intriguing.

4 stars!!! Journalist Alex Dale is determined to find out what happened 15 years ago to Amy Stevenson, something the police have been unable to do. Will she accomplish her goal or will her "health" issue keep her from it? #whatchareadin. She my full review @ http://whatchatreadin.blogspot.com

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I thought I knew who'd 'done it' halfway though, but I was wrong. Rather a twisty-turny plot! I liked the parallel story of the main characters battle with alcoholism too. It wasn't pathetic and 'I feel so sorry for myself', but at the same time it was clear what damage the alcohol had done to her physically and emotionally. The end was fabulous. I might have leaked from the eye region...

I'd like to title this book DON'T DO IT! There were so many instances where I could see where a character's decision was going to take them and wanted to scream through the pages to try to prevent the train wreck that was about to happen. #honestbooktitle #24in48 #readathon

This is one of the best edge-of-your-seat books I've read in a while. Interesting premise with one of the main characters in a vegetative state. And the unfolding story of how she ended up that way leads to solving a cold-case crime, and the surprise testimony that closes the case.

This book was an awesome ride! Seddon definitely knows how to keep me guessing until the end. The combination of so many possible suspects and a potentially unreliable narrator were too good to pass up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
