Swat snipper accused of murder. An entertaining read
Preschool pickup and getting to dig into Alone. 😎
Michigan game and starting a book from the very sweet @robinb 😀 I need something different and decided to was time to start a new series. Even though I have so many going 😳 But life is short!
39 of 2021. Day 5 book3 of #marvellousmarch. I read one of the more recent books in this series first and really liked it. I didn‘t like this one as well, but it was still good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

A man has barricaded himself, wielding a gun, with his wife and child. All state trooper Bobby Dodge can do is watch and make the best decision he sees fit. In a split second, he decides to pull the trigger, shooting the man dead.
But is there something else going on behind the scenes? Why is this little boy always sick and at the hospital? What secrets are being kept?
Not my favorite Lisa Gardner book, but definitely worth the audiobook listen!
This was another book I found on a list of thrillers that Karin Slaughter recommends, and I'm so glad I took her advice! An interesting take on a police procedural, with several plot points I didn't expect. Though it's a little odd to see that this is the first book in a series about Detective DD Warren, considering she felt like a minor character.
Day 3 of #Top20Series is the Detective D.D. Warren series by Lisa Gardner. I love her other series but this one follows a tough Boston detective in these suspense/thriller books. We meet D.D. in Alone but she becomes the lead detective in Hide. A great series that is still going strong. (Photo from Amazon)

I liked this book. There are definitely twists that I didn‘t expect and that didn‘t make me groan. For being the first in a series supposedly about a female “Detective D.D. Warren,” she plays a very small, almost inconsequential role in this book. I haven‘t decided yet if I‘ll read more books by this author. Overall this book was entertaining and I‘d recommend with some warnings for language and sexual content.
First book in the DD Warren series and I loved it 😍 She wasn't really in it, I'm guessing her character develops over the books but it was such a great story.
Thank you for the recommendation @TrishB it's a good one!

This is actually the third time that I‘ve read this one... and still a fast paced and exciting read!! It all started coming back to me about halfway through but I still had a great time and am so thrilled to finally be catching up on this great series!!! #RereadsAreTheBestReads!
My first taste of Lisa Gardner and very good it was too. Perhaps a bit hard to swallow in the believability stakes, but hey this is a fast-moving crime thriller with a monstrous villain, a femme fatale and a flawed-cop hero so it ticks all the boxes. Recommended.
Damn.... this book was straight up CRAY! So many crazies in one book: a wealthy/powerful judge, a beautiful black widow of a lady, and an ex-con/pedophile/killer. I couldn't put this book down. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Before I can go on to my next book, however, I want to finish this eBook that I started a couple of eeks ago. Need to find out how this ends!
I began this book on February 13th and This book made me shiver and the back on my neck stand up. It‘s amazing what some families hide and keep secret. Another win from Lisa Gardner my collection of her books is rapidly growing. This was book # 13 for me.
This book is supposed to be #1 in the D.D. Warren series. The story does touch on her intro, description, and she pops in for brief investigative updates, and for the finale. I totally didn't identify her as the main character. Bobby Dodge was in my mind the main character of the book. That being said, the book did have a creepy edge of your seat wonder what's next story. I find I'll read more of the series to see where D.D.'s character develops.
Read this as a book of the month in one of my Goodreads groups. It was pretty good. Action-packed, with some secrets that don‘t get revealed until well into the book, and a flawed major character that you‘re not entirely sure is a good guy until the end...or is she? Good psychological suspense, and a fairly quick read for me with good pacing. Would read this author again.
I don‘t know that I‘ve ever read a Lisa Gardner book and I‘m not a big fan of anything that scares me but I have been in a ghost/haunted walking tour and I‘d love to do a ghost investigation. I know, I‘m a contradiction. But having a #nightmare sucks so what‘s a girl to do? #Quotsy #QuotsyDec17 #LitsyQuoteChallenge
Oh my i know this isnt supose to be her best book but I loved it. It's such a sad story on one hand and on the other you cant figure out whos manipulating who. If you like cop dramas or mysteries this ones a pick.

Hang in for a suspenseful narrative that explores how we are all shaped from our past and thus books shows how one even in our lives can mold our futures.

My shelves are a mess currently, and of course not big enough for my books, but here's a decent area featuring Nora Roberts and Lisa Gardner 📚 #shelfie #riotgrams
