No review cause I‘ve only read half of this.. turns out I bought the first 2 of this arc and the 3rd is from the next storyline. Bummer :(. But I‘m really enjoying this so far. Hadn‘t heard of it before (I don‘t really keep up with comics or superhero stuff), but was excited to see a female superhero with a larger body. Putting the deluxe edition paperback on my holiday wish list :)

I know this got lots of awards but I didn‘t like it that wel. The art is OK but I don‘t like how they drew the super suit. I do love seeing a plus size superhero but that‘s about it. The story is all over the place and you have to have read arm the Renegades first to know what is going on. Half this story is action and half this story is Faith daydreaming and it just sorry didn‘t work for me.

I discovered this at a local indie bookstore. I loved Faith! She is a plus-size superhero and she is amazing. I really liked the first volume of this series and look forward to the rest.

This was just so-so for me. I love that Faith is a plus size super hero... but it‘s also a comic so there are sooooo many other stereotypes that I found it distracting. But isn‘t that what comics do??? They exaggerate everything and one just has to suspend all kinds of disbelief. The artwork is brilliant.

The character of Faith makes this worth the read. The plot is kind of all over the place, the art is inconsistent, and the other characters blend together, but I feel like this one will grow into the potential that lies in what could be a really, really great character. Geeky pop-culture blogger turned superhero is right up my alley.

I love this character. I want to be friends with her. She's fat, flies, and says Frak. What else could you want in a nerdy superhero?

I didn't love this but I'm still curious to read the next issue. I thought the characters were a little one dimensional and the plot a little weak, but I think it has promise.

SO THRILLED FOR THIS so okay I wasn't a huge fan of the writing of vol 1 BUT I still recommend you all try this trade, see how you like it, if you feel the same as me I also recommend trying vol 2 to see how you like it cos this superhero is worth putting in some effort and attention. Faith is amazing

Really liked this quirky superhero story about a heroine trying to do the right thing on her own after her team falls apart.

I had not heard of this comic before the #geekygraphicnovelswap but @UnidragonFrag made a great find. This book was witty, and the main character was so cool!

I love my plus size super hero! Faith is a great character!

Really enjoyed this comic. I felt that some of the humor was reminiscent of Squirrel Girl which I also like! It's definitely fun and I'm excited to read more in the series!

When someone pretending to be Apple calls your landline 4 times and your mom begs you to call them back and you spend an hour on the phone with them giving them incredibly personal info ( they even took me through a fake scan on my laptop) and then you have to call and cancel your cards and then spend 2 hours on the phone with the Dell Concierge tech support to fix remove everything- then you remember you COULD be in hurricane territory and STFU.

The book pile I packed for our recent trip north. I keep saying I want to branch out from my typical reading habits. Maybe someday I will.

I wanted to love this, but it left me meh. The story kept referring to past events at the expense of a new plot. I also wish Marguerite Sauvage could've done all the artwork. 😍 My hubs is loving the current issues of Faith, so I'm not giving up on the character - I just feel like this wasn't the best introduction.

My first Litsy post! Adding the books I've read so far this year. I'm starting to read some comics for the first time and enjoying it.

Oh my goodness, this was AWESOME! Faith is a superhero who knows ALL the tropes because she's also a big geek, and she rolls with it as she works to keep people safe and make a difference in the world. I love how aware she is of the trail she leaves, too. Not for her your quips about wanton destruction of property. She gets that her actions really do impact regular people, in bad ways as well as good, and she takes responsibility. #readathon

Faith is everything I've ever wanted out of a plus sized superhero. I will admit that I was skeptical because fat characters aren't often treated with respect, let alone as people with feelings & goals, but this really pulled through. I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to read a superhero comic with a fat girl who was just allowed to exist as herself, have a love life, & kick serious ass. She's definitely not the kind to strut around wearing skimpy metal bikinis and short short skirts, she's plus size and proud. I think it's fantastic that there's finally a real woman in a graphic novel, instead of a 15yrold nerds wet dream with gratuitous crotch shots.

I really liked the premise, but the details really got in the way for me. The plot was just kind of meh. Most of all, I found Faith's internal monologue text boxes reeeeeaaaaallllly distracting - and it really cluttered up the frames. I think this is where I will leave this series.

I ended up enjoying this comic despite the mixed reviews I've read. There is no deeper meaning behind the story or anything - it's simply fun 👍 A superhero who's female, overweight and a geek? Awesome! It gives me hope that someday...maybe I can become a superhero too? Sadly, though, I am lacking psionic abilities 😞

This was a pretty cute comic. Not my favorite, but didn't hate it. The more personal stuff Faith deals with in the book is a lot more interesting than her actual superheroing. In fact the villains in this book were pretty one note and boring. I will say the pacing is good and it's not hard to get into the story. I do wish Marguerite Sauvage had done the art for the entire volume though and not just the daydreaming or flashback aspects.

This comic is okay. I thought of giving it the so-so rating because the story is borderline so-so and pick. But I bumped it up a little for its well done portrayal of a fat woman.

The hubby convinced me to go to the gym so I took this awesome graphic novel with and just finished it. Love having a real plus size superhero. Liked the story and how her team ends up at the end. 12th book read for #24in48

Refreshingly different portrayal of a female superhero.

I really wanted to like this more. I love the representation of a fat superhero; the number of references were a nerd's dream; and there were moments I LOLed. Something in the overall story just didn't click for me though. Glad I read it, but don't feel compelled to keep going.

I really wanted to love this book (seriously! A fat woman superhero, what's not to love?!), but the story was just kind of "meh". I'll probably pick up the next vol from the library, in the hopes the story goes somewhere more interesting, but I'm not holding my breath.

This evening's #FunFridayPhoto is part of my 2017 TBR. It's my preliminary picks for tasks 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 11, 12, 18, 19 of the 2017 #ReadHarder challenge. The Mersault Investigation for #3 is kind of a stretch. I may wind up swapping that out if something closer to the spirit of the challenge catches my eye.

Faith is on her own in LA after her superhero team split up. A mild-mannered large-bodied entertainment writer by day, she doffs her wig-and-glasses disguise whenever crime is near. She is so conscientious, it's a breath of fresh air. Great fun!
