So Guards! Guards! is tough read for me so I dragged this out. #isolationreadathon
Katie‘s fiancé just left her, for her best friend. Enter Cassidy, a fellow lawyer & Katie‘s opposite, as a confident, mens-suit-wearing lesbian. Katie & Cassidy are immediately drawn to each other but Cassidy‘s out of the ordinary desire for more than a one night stand & Katie‘s out of the ordinary infatuation with a woman, can‘t actually work out bc Katie is straight. isn‘t she?
honestly Katie starts out kind of insufferable but she gets better
Cute little rom-com that was an easy read. Parts didn't make sense, like when the author wrote that Cassidy found it charming when Katie frequently said things like "dear lord" or "bless her heart". Katie never once had that in her lines. Katie kind of annoyed me, but I loved Cassidy's character.
So other than mailing dad's gift to him, that finishes my goals for #JoysOfJune. I want to read 2 more books before the readathon is over.
Fun, quick read! Tennessee raised, turned NY lawyer Katie gets dumped by her tool fiancée (who she was never really emotionally connected with anyway) and then coincidentally meets Cassidy, the cool, confident lesbian lawyer working across the table from her one day. Fast forward - Katie realizes she might like girls and Cassidy realizes she might be interested in Katie in a deeper way than her normal one night stands...
Cassidy is a strong, confident, suit wearing lesbian who enjoys a series of one night stands. Katie is recovering from being dumped by her perfect on paper fiancee, who left her for the one friend she thought she had.
Both are instantly intrigued by one another, but Katie's straight. Or not?

Loved it! I received this book in one of my first ever swaps and finally decided to read it! A romance that moved at a quick pace, finished it in two sittings which is really good for me these days. I didn't find any of it cheesy either. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Very cute little #lgbtq book. Characters weren‘t completely evolved or “deep” but still a decent read for something short and sweet. I would still recommend this.

Another on my #tbrread list. #lgbtq friendly. Hopefully a good read, had a depressing day and need something to cheer me up. 😔

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 stars Cute quick read! I thought this was a good look into an aspect of LGBTQ+ dating culture. I've been trying to read more inclusive and diverse books, especially since it's Pride Month. 🌈 💕
A fun little romance. It was a super quick light read. I totally enjoyed it. Lunch was pretty darn good too.
Meh, it was alright. The characters were two-dimensional and the plot was so-so. Entertaining enough to finish it, but not good enough to recommend to anyone.
About halfway through this #audiobook and it‘s entertaining. I‘m not sure I‘m suuuper into it, but I‘ll definitely finish it!
Another quick morning walk with my audiobook and a cup of tea. It was so windy out, that I barley hit 4,000 steps. Hopefully it‘ll warm up later, and I can head out for another walk. Otherwise I‘m thinking it‘s going to be a lazy day for the #BookFitnessChallenge
Ps this is my FAVOURITE sweater ever! Any other “A Night At the Roxbury” fans out there?! 💜💙
I was excited to read a lesbian romance. This was not the book I wanted it to be, the straight girl trope is far from a favorite and I thought the whole story was flat. At least it was only two hours of my life wasted. 👍🏼👍🏼
Recommend your favorite adult F/F HEA/HFN romance! (female/female, happily ever after/happily for now)
* No YA/NA (young/new adult)
* Must be romance, not just a romantic side plot
* Queer main characters
* Limited/no trauma
Ideally queer authors
Representation of trans, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, Black, POC, disabled, neurodiverse, and other underrepresented voices to the front! #queerbooks #ownvoices
i mean, i‘ll take queer representation but this was just okay for me.
1. I think this #BOTM choice cover is cute.
2. Nope!
3. Grayige, orange
4. Andrew Wyatt - and I hate that name! We still joke about it at least monthly. 🤣🤣
5. I‘m going to try! 💜💜💜

What ya do when the weather outside makes you want to stay inside.
I‘m switching to print books because 11 hrs of mostly ebooks is too much, even for me! Good excuse to break out the #booksleeves! #24in48 #readathon
Not my cup of tea. Bland characters, too many sterotypes and just...nope.
The lyrics for #ringofkeys made me think of this book. The swagger that the singer talks about just brought to mind Cassidy, in her power suits, with her devil may care attitude. I loved her character so much that I fell for this story book, line, and sinker. #musicalnewyear
This didn‘t review well and I kinda actually loved it and am not ashamed to stand by that. I personally found it to be super refreshing in a world of Fifty Shades. This was edgy and fun and I love that it had two super strong women as the leads. The ending was awesome and I want a part 2.
This was neither as bad as I had heard but not as great as I had also heard. I found it a standard romance with unremarkable characters and not a great story. It's disappointing Kate never considers that being bi is an option, yes. But I don't think the book at all reinforces negative stereotypes about lesbians as some reviews have said; I suspect people think any representation of masculine and/or promiscuous lesbians is "bad press"? #QueerBooks
TBH, I'm starting this book kind of against my better judgement? A few people whose opinions I trust have said it was terrible, but also other people I also trust have loved it? I'm so confused! I also want to see if the #bisexual erasure is as bad as I have heard. I did find the first few pages compulsively readable so it has that going for it so far? #QueerBooks
This book took me two hours cover to cover. It‘s not the deepest or most complex romance novel I‘ve ever read, but the characters are really cute. It‘s a sweet love story that‘s easy to lose yourself in! Perfect for anyone who‘s a sucker for a good rom-com like me💖
Haven‘t had much time to read thanks to a busy senior semester. I‘m excited to take a moment to breathe after a couple projects with Camille Perri‘s #WhenKatieMetCassidy
This story was so cute! It was quick and fun, and made the perfect vacation read.
I loved Perri's first book, The Assistants, so I was excited to try this book. It didn't disappoint! When Katie Met Cassidy is less of an edge of your seat scandal, but it's a cute Lesbian romance. I loved watching the characters change as they tried to figure out their new identities in a situation neither had ever been in before. There's not a lot of substance and the audiobook is less than 6.5 hours, but it's light and enjoyable!
I was hoping for so much more out of a f/f romance that went the literary version of viral. If these characters were heterosexual, this novel would not have gained any press because without the f/f aspect to sell it, this book would be boring. I was disappointed but it was a fast read with enough intrigue to not be a pan.
Yay, this was sweet!
I don‘t read much romance, but every once in a while a little lesbian book fling is called for! This was a quick read, and I chose it because I get to see the author speak at #TXBookFest this weekend!

I took my first trip to the new Central branch of the Austin Public Library. It‘s amazing!!! I‘ve seen pictures but it‘s so much bigger, more beautiful and impressive, in person. This art of the boat tailed grackles we have everywhere is almost 3 stories tall!
I didn‘t intend to check out books because MountTBR, but I couldn‘t resist! Both these authors are here for TX Book Fest this weekend.
What did you think if this book? I'm on the fence about it...
Part of me thinks it was pretty good since I've been in a six month long reading slump and this book kept me reading long enough to finish it!! :)
#humpdaypost @MinDea
1. My breakfast - Avocado toast, chili flakes, arugula, grilled halloumi, lime... Yum! 🥑
2. Don‘t judge me! A friend of mine, is obsessed with Britney, so I begrudgingly agreed to go with her! 🤦♀️... Amos Lee was the last one that I chose!
3. According to my hubby, not tightening jar lids!
4. Gilmore Girls (first time), The Good Place, Ink Master new series....
5. Tagged! Last one for this quarter‘s #booked2018
Why hasn‘t this been adapted into a romcom film yet? It‘s funny, sweet, and sexy.
This is one of the most juvenile books I ever read and such a disappointment. I loved Perri‘s first book but alas I think she hit a major sophomore slump.
Another book that I have been saving for this vacation.
This was a quick and easy read... and while I don't typically go for romance, this one drew me in when I saw it on #BotM.
All in all I enjoyed this book - although there were a few moments of cliches and stereotyping that surprised me coming from an author who is part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Even if the book wasn't perfect, it's still a strong contribution to a largely underrepresented group - and for that, it's a "Pick".
❤????
This book can indeed be considered light and fluffy.... but it also comes off as superficial both with characterization and queer issues in general. There's a lot of problematic stereotypes thrown in with the light and fluffy. This is a fine gateway book into queer romance, but not a great book overall.
Awwwww! Finally some characters I can like and root for! This is an adorable love story without being too schmaltzy. Perfect for a light, quick read. 4⭐️
I had high hopes, and then the book sort of fizzled. The book was well written, but I feel that both Katie and Cassidy had some flaws that needed to be addressed, but were just good over. It bother me that Katie was such a weak character, as in she was a doormat. I do like their initial meeting, as in when they first met, not their accidental meeting that evening. It was suck a meet-cute
Aaaugh! I wanted something light, fun, and breezy for my heatwave tofu brain. Started off great, cute meet, and the million butterflies in your tummy feeling when you‘re not sure you‘re in love or lust nicely done. But the hints at conflict that never materialize, and the rushed wrap it all up fluff ending made me want to throw something. Katherine V. Forrest‘s Curious Wine way hotter romance for first affair. Back to noir!
1) Jaws, always and forever.
2) Fries
3) Disco and My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
4) One of oh so many!
Just started, and if the rest of the book is like this quote, I'm going to love it. Wish me luck
