While I enjoy Squirrel Girl's humor, I just didn't care for the stories or the art in this one.

What is there to say about Squirrel Girl? Always a silly and fun time. Quickly becoming one of my favorite Marvel characters. She talks to squirrels and moves with squirrel agility! And in this book, she takes on am evil Norse squirrel who is trying to bring chaos 🤣

This volume was an interesting ride into possibly different "origin" stories but let me just say that I love Nancy and her "I'm the Xander" moment.

Life is full of beautiful surprises, like when there‘s a Buffy reference in my Squirrel Girl comic. 😍 Reading comics in bath is far better than watching whatever is currently on the television. #SuperReading

I liked the second volume of “The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl” way less than the first. I felt like I needed more background info & ground knowledge about superheroes to fully appreciate the storylines & get the jokes. I‘m also not a fan of the overuse of footnotes. They‘re funny & I appreciate them to some extent... but there are too many of them. Tbh, I don‘t really understand *when* on the page I‘m supposed to be reading them, either. 🤷‍♀️

And now for something completely different... As a reward for powering through the entire Southern Reach trilogy in about twelve hours (so long, and thanks for all the nightmares!), I‘m gifting myself a donut and volume two of Squirrel Girl, book five of my #readathon.

This book is a shot of joy.

Turns out this series is where I need to go for my kind, supportive Iron Man, even if he only shows up as tweets.

My evening read. I love ILL as this came from a library system that I used all the time when I lived in Maryland.

I adore Squirrel Girl and the Squirrel Girl comics. And also this panel of Loki as Cat Thor.

Book 2 in the series and I still think this is Lorelai meets Marvel. I say that for the fast talking, sometimes non-relevant to the story of our main squirrel. This time there is an evil squirrel who is causing fights to break out all over. Still loving the adventures of squirrel girl and her friends (Nancy is my fave, hands down). Plus, in this issue we get Catthor in the flesh (kinda sorta) 😸 first hour and first book for #24in48 done and done. Now sleep time so I can start full steam in the morning!

There was an affect/effect mix up in the last volume, too. Great otherwise!

These graphic novels are making me laugh a lot! Definitely my new fave superhero!

I usually dislike a mix of fonts in whatever I'm reading--comics, books, newsletters, emails, etc. However, I do love the alternate font used for the Thors in The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. #ForTheLoveOfFonts #ReadJanuary

So I thought we were settling in for the afternoon while big brother was at Kindy. He with his Lego Club magazine, me with Squirrel Girl. Then he sees Spider-Man in my book (makes a brief appearance in the issue 5) and asked if I could read it to him and we ended up reading about half the volume! Of course when I asked him what he liked about Squirrel Girl, he said "Spider-Man" ?

Day 12 #GirlInTheTitle - so so so fun!! The ways she defeats her opponents is so creative and not the 'normal' way. Her friends are also great side characters and the way the more popular superheroes are characterized is hilarious. #ReadJanuary @RealLifeReading

I really got sucked in to how hilarious and lighthearted this series is, and love how it focuses on friendship and positive thinking.

This is the kind of book that makes me wish I had a daughter. Be a great present for any kid in their senior year of high school or staring college.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 As always a great adventure! I know a little about Marvel Comics so I get some of the references. If you know more than I do I bet this comic is even better. She teams up with so many great heroes. Super creative. I would read them in order.
