2 books are left in this series, and it shows. This entry is considerably darker, and it leaves readers with a more dour ending than usual. Excited to see how the final 2 books wrap things up.
Probably my least favorite of the series, but I still love it. Jefferson Mayes does a phenomenal job with the narration as always. Starting my re-listen of Tiamat's Wrath this afternoon.

Yes, for once one a space ship someone talks about bodily functions and the impact of no gravity :)
And lovely to be back with the crew on the Roci :)
The back half of this went much faster than I expected because I was so into what was going on. The thirty year time jump between this and the previous one was a bit of a hurdle at first but I think it makes what happens all the richer. I was glad to see that the protomolecule storyline seems to be making a more prominent comeback after two installments where it was very much on the back burner.

A rare moment of Simon sharing the couch with me while I read The Expanse. He‘s our most skittish cat and usually only chooses to interact with me on the bed.

I‘m enjoying this installment of The Expanse but also I feel impatient with my reading pace which is annoying sort of. Bookly says I still have over four hours left in this. Reading with Sierra helps a bit though.

I had a pretty productive reading week. I was starting to get a little burnt out on Alex Verus after reading four in a row so I'm reading other series that I've started and never finished. I was pleased by the last in the Custard Protocol series and found it was nicely done but now I've moved on to The Expanse. It's taking me a bit longer to get through because it threw a 30 year time jump at me and my brain broke lol
Heading back into The Expanse with Simon by my side. I‘ve read so much fantasy lately it will be good to go into space.

I was a bit disoriented and disappointed with the beginning because it felt like more of the same only now, because of the 30 year gap between this and the previous book, with added geriatric complaint by characters getting older. There is that, but oh so much more! Corey knows how to keep the fish on the line and then reel them in and land them home- this might have been one of the best in the series because it was such a departure!
Heading back to work tomorrow thus ending my 33 day self-isolation. I was able to read 18 books which was nice! Started this one last night and it feels good to jump back into this series.
Book 7 of The Expanse series finished, getting nervous now, only one more book to go! Well there are some novellas for me to keep going with 😅 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Book mail is the best mail! Filling up my shelves with more great books!
The time jump (the characters being older) took a few chapters to get used to. Also, too much politics for my taste but it was (probably) a good build up for the next installment. As I am reading these almost back to back, I start to notice some repetitive sentences across the books.
Zoomed through this in less than a week. It‘s cool how each book pivots to focus on a new conflict while still moving toward the bigger problem of the protomolecule and it‘s destroyers. Can‘t wait for the next book to come out, excuse me while I go google the release date and every scrap of info I can find about it.
4/5
It's been nearly a year since I binge read the rest of the series, and I was a little worried that I wouldn't enjoy this book as much now that the other storylines weren't fresh on my mind. Turns out all this managed to do was make me want to reread everything.
This is a great story that ends with more questions than answers, and a number of surprises along the way. This continues to be a super fin space opera series.
Currently reading: action packed as expected and surprising. A fast and fun read - which is what I expect from The Expanse books.
Great stuff. The series continues to surprise and fascinate me. Wonderful characters and super space ship settings.
Seven books into the series and everything has jumped off the deep end. Bloody hell.
Never cried so hard before at a fictional character crossing off something on her to do list. Full on bawling my eyes out.
Tonight's reading is sponsored by #ItsSoLateItsEarly and the first crochet blanket I made.
I am coming close to the end of the Expanse series, and since I can't decide what to read next, you can vote for me.
I'll be counting all comments on this post as well as any other posts about the vote, and twitter (EllanaRose_).
So. What do you think I should read next?
2.30am and as much as I want to keep reading to find out what happens, I have to sleep. I'm a third done but oh there's so much happening and every little thing has changed. Seven books into the series and I never would have considered some of these things happening.
But sadly, I must sleep.
Another night or two of #ItsSoLateItsEarly reading and I think I might finish this series.
I have two books planned for my blog, but after those I might have you all vote on what series I should read next. Got a couple of ideas in mind...
Like the name of the series suggests, each new book seems to widen the scope and stakes of the story. A little disappointing that the overarching threat is still not discussed in depth or more present in this book, but it seems this will be inevitable in the next book.
Sure, I love Bobbie, and Alex, and the others. But I think I will always love Avasarala the most.
Me: I'm gonna read for a while 📘📖😁
Mr Darcy: novels are bad for young ladies 👎 😸

West Winds "The Sabre" gin with mandarin liqueur, elderflower tonic, and a lime wedge. (Oh, and a book.) #booksanddrinks #booksandbooze #booksandcocktails
So I'm trying to put together a #litsyAtoZ for this year (my first). I'm going with first letter if the titles and so far I have 14 letters plus 9 subs. I'm limiting myself to 3 series (2 re-reads). Trying to fit some non-fiction in there too - 3 + 1 sub so far.
Am I doing this right? LOL #TBR
My New Years resolution is to keep better track of what books I‘ve read this year since I cant remember how many I did last year making it harder to come up with a definitive favorite list this year.
My first book in 2018 is Persepolis Rising. Now if only the complete season 2 of the Expanse would become available on Netflix, Hulu or Prime Video.
Bwahahaha my bookstore is only getting one copy of Persepolis Rising and I've already called dibs. But in the meantime, this!
