This was entertaining. It reminded me of comedy movies from the 1930s & 1940s.

Lady Georgiana doesn't want to spend Christmas at Castle Rannoch since all of her sister-in-law's family will be there, so she finds a job helping to throw an old fashioned English Christmas celebration in the countryside. When a few accidental deaths seem to be more than coincidence, she decides to figure out who's behind them.

My 2022 holiday-themed books. My favorite was the tagged book. It was very clever. I also enjoyed Let it Snow, which reminded me a little of Marian Keyes, and The Holiday Switch, which is a YA about living in a Hallmark town. Christmas Cookie Murder was a good cozy, and Blame it on the Mistletoe was a YA version of The Holiday. Christmas at the Palace was ok but not really about Christmas until the end. My re-reads of two classics were fun.
I haven't read this series so that may be why I didn't enjoy it much. It was very slow to start with, not much was going on and then it felt a bit rushed.
Decent enough 1930s cosy mystery.
What a wild ride this Royal Spyness Mystery is!Penniless Georgiana is stuck in the family castle with her brother, her penny pinching, disapproving, resentful sister-in-law, & their children. In order to escape this situation, she answers an ad for an assistant hostess for a country Christmas party. What transpires is a ghastly set of “accidents”that stump all.Add romance, social commentary, humor& mystery & you have a riveting story. #winterreadathon

I chose this meme because it struck my funny bone & is so true! We tie our tree to the ceiling because the cats live to climb it!
Funny how Kindle and physical books finish at the same time…I loved this book! Written tongue in cheek, it furnished many snickers. Lady Georgianna can‘t abide the thought of spending Christmas with her ruthless sister-in-law and all that woman‘s extended family. However, Georgie is penniless. She discovers an advertisement for a social director and heads to a small village to help the local noble family. Murder happens.
Ok, the very 1st page has me cracking up 😆. I think this is going to be my kind of book. Look at the description for weather…atmosphere….and outlook 🤣
I gave one of my favorite Royal Spyness books a re-listen and enjoyed it just as much as before. This one has very cozy Agatha Christie vibes and I love the setting. Perfect for Christmas! 5⭐️

After a walk, settling in for coffee & reading before I leave for a massage. Self care day.
Chapter one opens. Lady Georgiana is trapped for Christmas on her brother‘s estate in the wilds of Scotland. Her penny pinching sister-in-law lets her know she is a financial burden. Can she escape?
Waiting for an oil change so started this book. This series is such fun! Opens in the middle of a blizzard. Meanwhile I am about to move to an outdoor bench as it is now 58 degrees!!!
This is one of my favorites in the series and it holds up well the 2nd time around. The audiobook is excellent and I plan on listening to it again around Christmastime. I highly recommend this series, especially the audiobooks! 5⭐️

I‘ll be starting this fun Christmas mystery today - it‘s listed as the 6th in the series, but I understand these can be read as standalones. Any of you a fan of this mystery series by Rhys Bowen? Of course, I‘ll have one or two of these Limited Edition Lindt Peppermint White Chocolate Truffles as a reading treat. I‘m not usually a white chocolate fan, but these are so peppermint-y and delicious, I do indulge and buy them each year.
Stuck between a pick and a so-so for this one. It's a decent cosy but nothing particularly earth-shattering; not my usual genre, but I really needed something to bolster my Christmas spirit, and this helped. It was kind of like mashed potatoes -somewhat bland but quite comforting. I could imagine reading more in the series when in the same mood.
This was *exactly* what I was looking for! Totally charming cozy British mystery, with memorable characters and a fun mystery at its center. I‘ll definitely be looking to read all of the books in the series!
Lady Georgiana finds herself at an Authentic English Christmas where, coincidentally, a lot of bodies start appearing...
A fun Christmas read and awesome on audio. Katherine Kellgren is a marvel!!!

I loved this and look forward to reading it again around Christmastime, as I‘m sure it would be even more enjoyable then. This one has a high body count and an interesting conclusion. I don‘t want to give away spoilers but I would highly recommend this series! What are some other good historical fiction murder mystery series? (Besides the awesome Phryne Fisher, who is my fave!) 5⭐️

Tonight's read, brought to you by a #BlameItOnLitsy moment. I guess I needed one more Christmas read.
Oh my gosh, what a delightful holiday book... full of English charm, old world ideals and enough intrigue and murder to spice things up. A great start to my festive holiday reading!
Perhaps if I get lost in my book I will forget I have to go back to school tomorrow....
#NovemberbytheNumbers I️ do love a good holiday cozy mystery... #twelve #12

I adore this series. I've bought the next two to continue listening. Katherine Kelgren is amazing as the narrator!
I‘ll be sad when I‘ve finished this series. I hope there are more to come! 📚
Rainy Sunday morning, tucked up in bed with cup of Scottish Breakfast Tea is perfect for finishing this. I really enjoy this series when I need a #comfortread. Love Georgies plucky nature and Dashing Darcy. My only complaint is I quickly tire of inept maid Queenie. Especially the whole ruining Georgie's clothes and then pulling a sad face and making Georgie feel guilty.
WOOT! WOOT! My Litfluence just went over 5000 today. 🤓
"And Darcy stepped into the room."
Highland Blend Tea and Georgie.
I need to finish this one from #dectbr because next book Heirs and Graces is on my #litsyAtoZ. #alwaysgood2seedarcy
I discovered this series earlier in the year and I'm doing my best to enjoy them slowly. The mysteries are engaging and the narration is hilarious, especially on audio. This one is number 5, so if you're looking to start at the beginning go for Her Royal Spyness #somethingforsept
