In this book that main character Jabari has just passed the swim test and is ready to jump of the diving board. He is so excited because he has waited for this moment, but when it‘s his turn on the diving board he becomes scared. Throughout the book he learns how not to be scared and what cool dive to do off the diving board.

Jabari Jumps is a fiction book by Gaia Cornwall. It is about a boy who is ready to jump off the diving board after his swimming lessons. He gets scared but then overcomes his fear of jumping off the diving board. His dad is very supportive the whole time. It is a great book for children. It was published in 2017 and won the Charlotte Zolotow Award, the ALSC notable children‘s books, and the CCBC choices in 2018.

Jabari Jumps was written by Gaia Cornwall in 2017, and is such a great read for children who need confidence boosts. This book talks about the anxiety that comes with trying new things, and how Jabari used his parent's support to gain confidence to overcome his fears of jumping off the diving board. Great read for young children!

Jabari is a young boy who has a fear of jumping off the high dive at the pool. His father tries to encourage Jabari to overcome his fear and eventually jumps. Cornwall wants readers to recognize that they too can do hard things with determination. I would recommend this book for early childhood learners.

This story is about a young black boy who learns to take that jump by taking swimming lessons, passing tests, and challenging himself to do so. He builds up enough courage and bravery to jump off of the diving board so he can have his big jump. Taking that leap is hard and can be a struggle sometimes but Jabari works hard to take his big final jump. This book shows how people build up the courage and are brave enough to take chances in life.

Jabari is facing one of his fears of diving off the diving board. Jabari is so nervous and anxious about this fear that he was making excuses so he wouldn‘t have to jump. Jabari finally gains the courage and he climbs on the diving board and JUMPS! Jabari conquered his fear of jumping in the water and now he wonders why he was ever scared.

Jabari is a young boy who loves to swim, and he decides he wants to finally jump off the diving board. But when he gets there, he is a bit apprehensive about going off. With some encouragement from his dad, he ends up jumping off the board and is able to overcome his fear. This book was published in 2017. I really enjoyed this book and its message!

This was an adorable quick read. Jabari just finished his swimming lessons and he is ready to jump off the diving board. He is a little unsure and with some encouragement from his dad and some courage he is able to jump off the diving board. He loves it so much he wants to do it over again. I have a feeling the two year olds I teach would enjoy this!

Really good picture book about facing fears. Plus, it has a great father/son relationship represented, and the dad even wears his baby. I‘m a sucker for that.

Cute little book about facing your fears. There are some good illustrations and and many menus in the story, but it has a slow start and doesn‘t quite get to you at the end. Not a great one for a read aloud - too long
