1. Tagged. I remember my mother reading The Little Witch to me. Me lying in bed, she sitting next to me. It's a beautiful memory, which I treasure dearly.

2. I love travelling via books, since travelling in real life isn't possible right now, but I also think it's great to discover your own country from a different point of view.

This book was a Christmas gift from my mum when I just got 6 years old. And how delightful to reread this lovely story after so many years ❤️

I hope that the Little Witch will accompany many more kids through many more years and generations.

Buechersuechtling @AnneCecilie @ju.ca.no As a child I didn‘t know the whole story because we were only read one chapter aloud at the Kindergarden and therefore I couldn‘t relate to all the hype everybody else around me suddenly was in. 🤷🏽‍♀️ But just recently (🤔 maybe about a year ago) I listened to the audio play they made of it. Downloaded this 1-hour-40 audio play yesterday. It‘s a well known children‘s book in Germany (Maybe in English speaking countries, too.) and I thought I refresh my knowledge. I feel like I only was read aloud some chapters of it in kindergarten but never the whole coming-of-age-story. 🤷🏽‍♀️

What shall I say❓🤔
🥰 The audio play is made, read and played so affectionately. 🥰
Listening made me feel warm all over❣️

Buechersuechtling @PickwickPlockPlock That‘s a good question. I was puzzled by the cover, too. I did a bit of research and assume that the audio play made by „Der Hörbuch Verlag“ in March 2017 uses the film poster of the film that as far as I know was made 2016/2017. 5y

Buechersuechtling @PickwickPlockPlock Oh I‘m sorry, I misread your question. I read “Is that the audio play _or_ the movie?” instead of “Is that the audio play _for_ the movie?” So, yes, I think, you‘re quite right, this seems to be the audio play for the movie. 5y

My daughter is reading her second book and wanted to share a quote with you. It's about the house of the little witch.

"Ein Hexenhaus ohne Backofen waere kein richtiges Hexenhaus."

A witch's house without an oven wouldn't be a real witch's house.

Habt ihr auch ein Lieblingskinderbuch? Meins ist dieses. Nun,nicht genau das,weil meins war,irgendwann als ich älter wurde,in den Kindergarten gegeben worden.Somit musste ich über Jahre suchen,bis ich es endlich wiedergefunden habe.Das Problem war die neue deutsche Rechtschreibung & die 'Diskriminierung' die in der Ursprungsfassung auftreten soll.Ich wollte aber 'mein' Kinderbuch 😂 So sitz ich nun in der Sonne auf der Couch und freue mich. 😍

Sarah83 Do you have a favourite child book? Mine is this one. Not exactly this one, because my edition went to my kindergarten, when I was 'too old' for it. So I had to search for years for this edition. In Germany there was a new orthography published and within the text there should be discriminated phrases. But this was my childhood edition. So I sit now on my sofa in the sun and I'm happy with my book. 😎 8y

Redwritinghood My German is rusty so sorry if I'm way off topic, but I didn't realize until you asked that I honestly can't immediately recall a favorite childhood book. Very weird. If I had to say maybe Little House on the Prairie or Boxcar Children because our teacher read them to us in 1st grade. I notice that with Boxcar Children, the covers do change depending on the era - I have copies where they're wearing these horrible 80s clothes. 8y

Most of my #usedbooks are from the Random Book Club, where they send you a random used book each month. I also love browsing second hand stores!

I will have to leave out the next two days of #augustofpages #augustphotochallenge because I'm at a festival 😅
