Every Wild Heart
Every Wild Heart: A Novel | Meg Donohue
14 posts | 17 read | 15 to read
From USA Today bestselling author Meg Donohue comes a mystery, a love story, and a mother-daughter tale about two women on a precarious journey to uncover their true selves. Passionate and funny, radio personality Gail Gideon is a true original. Nine years ago when Gails husband announced that he wanted a divorce, her ensuing on-air rant propelled her local radio show into the national spotlight. Now, The Gail Gideon Show is beloved by millions of single women who tune-in for her advice on the power of self-reinvention. But fame comes at a price. After all, what does a woman who has staked her career on being single do when she finds herself falling in love? And is the person who is harassing her in increasingly troubling ways a misguided fan or a true danger to Gail and her daughter, Nic? Fourteen-year-old Nic has always felt that she pales in comparison to her vibrant, outgoing mother. Plagued by a fear of social situations, she is most comfortable at the stable where she spends her afternoons. But when a riding accident lands Nic in the hospital, she awakens from her coma changed. Suddenly, she has no fear at all and her disconcerting behavior lands her in one risky situation after another. And no one, least of all her mother, can guess what she will do next

11-29-20: My 100th finished book of 2020!🎊 G.G. Is a talk radio host and Nic is her 14 year old daughter who loves horseback riding and suffers from anxiety. While G.G. is dealing with a stalker situation, Nic is in an accident and starts to finally feel brave in ways she never expected. The story comes together nicely. The mother-daughter bond is lovely. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #everywildheart #megdonohue 👍🏼📖#️⃣1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

I read this book because it was on the MMD summer reading guide and was on sale for kindle. I enjoyed it while reading it but the ending seemed rushed.

This is the perfect book to get over a reading slump. Strong Gilmore Girls vibe. Started this morning and already 70% of my way through, on a work day🙈 #modernmrsdarcy #summerreadingguide

Finished this just now while waiting for my daughter who is having her wisdom teeth removed. Perfect distraction from worry and perfect follow-up to two more intense books I've read lately. I loved this sweet book about a mother and daughter, about taking chances and making changes. A little predictable but so lovely at the same time. Great characters and little of everything... romance, family drama, a bit of a mystery. Just wonderful.

Next up:

-contemporary fiction
-set in San Francisco
-alternating viewpoints, mother and teen daughter
-main character based loosely on radio host Delilah
-characters at crossroads in their lives

Two chapters in and I think I will like this...

christineandbooks Just seconds after taking this picture my other cat came racing down the stairs, crashed into Nutmeg, and started a chase. Too funny...#catsareweird 7y

Mostly feel-good story of single mother Gail & her 14-year-old daughter, Nic & the changes they & their relationship go through after Nic has a riding accident. There's lots of subplots but the author makes it work & kept me engaged. Some suspense & romance but at its core it's about growth & moving forward despite fears of letting go, changing relationships & unconditional love. Paired w/Pasta w/Butter & Parmesan for my book tour review. Link👇🏼

LeahBergen Yum! I'm going out for pasta this evening and now I want THIS. 8y

Reading this, I'm really just starting to think that Nic's character is just finally being herself. The accident seems to have been a good thing for her ironically

Day 29 #marchintoreading #bookbags I don't have very many bags that are specifically book bags but these are the ones I use the most for books rather than groceries: #BOTM of course, the Graywolf Press was part of my prize pack for the last #24in48 marathon, one of several Trader Joe's cloth bags & an Anthropologie reusable tote bag. (I like the quote & color.) Shown with my current-current read that I am finishing to review tomorrow. 📚👜👍

RealLifeReading Nice quote! 8y
Bette How is it so far? Our copy just came into the library. Like I need one more book...😛 8y
Robin3 How do you get into BOTM and where do you get their tote? 8y
DebinHawaii @Robin3 This is a referral code to try it for $1 for 1 month but I am not sure if a tote comes with it- (I think it does.) Otherwise they frequently offer 3 month deals on their website & you get a tote with your membership. https://www.bookofthemonth.com/referCode/?referCode=dln46nwr6l8tzkt9&utm_source=... 8y
DebinHawaii @RealLifeReading I think it's fun!👍 @Bette I enjoyed it, it's a good mother-daughter story. My review will go up sometime today. 📚👍 8y

My little free library was still full of lots of treasures and then I added all these books today. Wishing my neighbors would come pick something up to read.

Reviewsbylola I can't wait to get my mom's LFL up and running this summer! 8y

I'm in Chicago for spring break and won't be able to make it back home today as planned because of the nine inches of snow we got back home. Good thing I packed a book to read.

Peaceful_Reader I'm in Indiana and plan to drive home early afternoon. 8y
