An okayish Scandinavian thriller. First of a series I won‘t continue. I liked the setting (Winter, Snow, Sweden), the plot not so much.

I hope to finish Martyr! today so I can make a start with these beauties. The tagged is Nordic crime one, which I haven‘t read for a while. All Fours is our next #CampLitsy24 read and in between I am reading The Alternatives, which is good.
#Weekendreads Thanks for the tag @Eggs !
1- Paper Valentine on hardback and Senlin Ascends on audio.
2- Die Hard
3- Sun storm by Asa Larsson

Interesting article... if a little limited in terms of the authors experience of female Nordic authors !

This is 1st book in the series. It is a book about religious fanaticism and violence. Victor Standgard, a well known priest is murderer. His sister, Sanna, asks her friend, Rebecca Martinsson, to help her solve this murder. Rebecca, a tax attorney is forced to relive her past.
The book was a little slow-paced and not too exciting. I‘ll continue with the series as the books look like they get better. Just a rough start for this series, hopefully.
I didn't care for it. I doubt I'll continue the series. Didn't relate to the characters. The plot was not straight forward. #NordiNoir @Tove_Reads @EadieB @AnneCecilie @Andrew65
#Nordicnoir people, and others who‘d like to read with us! We need new authors to read. Kepler‘s series ends in July, Adler-Olsen‘s in August. What would you like to read? We talked about Nesbø. I‘m sure many have read his books, I haven‘t yet. What about Åsa Larsson, Peter Høeg, Åke Edwardson, Leena Lehtolainen, Maj Sjöwall? Please suggest and discuss. Which authors can you find in your library?
Pretty good slow burn thriller. Could check lots of challenge boxes. Female author. Swedish.Nordic thriller. Female translator. Female protagonist. Detective, lawyer
I enjoyed it.
Finally decided on my #Booked2019 #femaledetective book.
Q? When attempting multiple challenges do YOU count the same book for multiple challenges? e.g. read this book and also count it for “S” on #litsyatoz ?
This was good @Jess_Read_This - this story was set in the small Swedish town (Kiruna) where I stayed when I got engaged. It's a very readable book.
This writer does like the poetic opening paragraph. Not that I am complaining. #readathon
Love, love this book. A gripping mystery complete with shocking violence, religious fanaticism, a chilling atmosphere, and a badass leading lady. Perfect summer reading material!
