#12booksof2024 November. No surprise here. Archer is just a splendid author! I was a bit late to the Warwick series, but all caught up now! Runner up: MA Hunter‘s The Reunion, also a five star read!

Easy choice for October #12booksof2024 due to this book being the best book I read in 2024! Runner up is Roger Stelljes: Taken in the Cold ❤️
#12booksof2024 Definitely the choice for September! Mind-blowing! Fantastic! Could not love this book more! Also worth mentioning is Lisa Regan‘s Remember Her Name.
Didn‘t start the year with an easy read, a short, but not easy read. The main character in this book is absolutely horrible. Do you use your childhood experiences for good or bad? You become a doctor, but why? You separate good people from bad people, but totally on your own terms, but why? Read the book to find out! Always appreciate that Boyle does not stay away from taboo.
Anyone planning on taking part in this Goodreads challenge? The epic quest is a hard one for me. Any suggestions?
August was filled with excellent books. Top 4 presented here (sans Peter May‘s Lewis trilogy‘s book 2 and 3 - rereads). Could not pick a winner. All four authors are top notch authors I love beyond words. So… I randomly picked one to post here. And the good news is, there were even more 5 star reads than these 6! 🎊🌠
Not the best year - only 167 books 🤷🏼 I feel a bit sad for the ospreys - only 4 people have shelved. Here‘s to a better year 2025 🥂🎊
And here‘s June! I reread the Black House, and knew it would be five dashing stars, so in that way it doesn‘t count, but definitely worth to mention here. Stacy Green‘s Stolen Mothers was so incredibly brilliant it won my heart in June. Another author who deserves a lot more attention and praise! 😍😍😍🎊🥳🍾
Ending the year with brilliant Sue Watson! Then on to these other three fantastic authors! Once this absolutely annoying cold has left my body, I‘m sure I‘ll feel alive again! Ooh, last night I finished writing my first play!!!! 🥳🥳 Yes, first draft, but still!
Not a single five star reads in June, but many 4-4,5 star reads. I‘m picking Coben‘s Think Twice for the win! Hannah‘s The Women comes in second.
#12booksof2024 for May it‘s either this one or OMJ Ryan‘s Deadly Justice, the two five star reads I had that month. Sadly forgotten everything about the books by now, so just picked one. Read a Coben, read an Archer, but those were four stars for me. Good to see some names topping these gurus of writing, since I feel like for example Ryan and McCleave do not get the recognition they deserve!
A tough decision for April #12booksof2024. A toss between this one and Angie Marson‘s Guilty Mothers. I chose DK, because the theme in the book appeals to me more than beauty pageants in Angie‘s book. These were the only two 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 reads in April.
Wasn‘t able to choose the best read in March, so here are the two best. #sorrynotsorry #12booksof2024 Two of my fave authors (tbf the list is long!) Wendy‘s series is absolutely fantastic, the characters sooo great and Michael is just one of the best authors this planet has ever seen.
Best book from February #12booksof2024 I really enjoy Dunphy‘s writing style!
Only one five star book in January, so this is my choice for the first #12days. There was another book I enjoyed a lot as well, but most books in January were four stars. This year has not been the best reading year due to me writing a lot (good thing), and I‘ve gotten many, many devastating news all year long (horrible). Still managed to read tons of great books though!
I like the characters and it‘s great getting to know them better. The case in this second book is better than the one in the first one, but it was a bit slow at times. This is definitely a character driven series, which is not a bad thing. I‘m however still waiting for “that something”. The “it” is still missing for me when it comes to the criminal part. In general I liked the book, and will continue reading the series.
I downloaded this book and the second Ellie Reeves book, and was meant to read the latter one first. While reading it suddenly hit me, I‘m reading the “wrong” book. 🤷🏼 So, @Andrew65 @EadieB I‘m already one third through the second detective Scott book 🤣 Sorry about that. We never discussed when we would read it.
Been meaning to read this series for some years, and now it‘s time to read the first book as a #buddyread with @Andrew65 and @EadieB 🙂
I love William Kent Krueger ❤️❤️❤️ There‘s something so calm and healing about this book, even though the things happening in these books are cruel and horrible. The characters are vivid and likable in general. This series is different from all the others I‘ve read. 😍😍😍
It is time!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ couldn‘t find the book here yet though. Heard it‘s amazing! 😍😍😍
Helsinki book fair ❤️ Friends, books, food, listening to author interviews, but mostly got distracted by tea and book related things 🤷🏼😍😁
Reading Traitors Gate to catch up with the series, eagerly waiting for the next book in the series! I admire Jeffrey Archer‘s writing style and his editing skills. He edits his books up to 14 times! You can see that! So many authors could do with a bit more editing. I‘m spending most of my nights working on my own series atm. It‘s fascinating and fun, a bit scary, but let‘s see what happens!
Yes! Absolutely love this book! ❤️
I loved it! The best thing to do is to read the old books and then continue with this one. So many characters from back in the days, and so much history. This book was great, but also heartbreaking. Peter May is a magnificent writer, and his characters are so believable and flawed that sometimes it chills my bones. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#netgalley
What did I just read? 😳 Absolutely loved this book! This is the darkest book in the series, and oh so fantastic! Highly recommending this book and the whole series! ❤️
Finally got this book today! 🥰 Sitting in the backyard admiring the book, and it started raining. So peaceful and nice ❤️
Yeeeeeeeeees!!!!!! I love Peter May 🥰
I am attending me second writing course this week. Super inspiring! Found my flow, and I am absolutely loving writing 🥰🥰
Yes, it‘s still absolutely magical! Really loved the book the second time as well! Peter May is a truly gifted writer, and I love this trilogy, which will have a fourth book added to it in September. Highly recommended, brilliant storytelling 🥰
Rereading this one, because the trilogy is getting a fourth book in September. So weird, I know I loved the book the first time I read it, but can honestly say I remember nothing at all from it, except the island 🫣🤷🏼🕵🏼😳
When do we start reading? The fourth one will be published in September. Can‘t wait! @Andrew65
We‘re enjoying the writers‘ retreat. People like my book idea and texts. I‘m a bit overwhelmed actually, but in a very good way. Tonight‘s prompt is to come up with a killer beginning, yet here I am on Litsy 🤣🤷🏼🥰👍🏽😆
I‘ll be going on a writer‘s retreat/crime novel course on Sunday. Can‘t believe it! Been dreaming about this for years! Also decided I stare too much at different screens, so decided to go old school. Sometimes it‘s just all I need - take a break from the internet and let my brain work without distractions 🙂 Really hope my ideas will turn into a book soon! 🕵🏼🦏🐘🐆🦓
Did I like it? Why even ask? Yes, yes I did like it! https://tovereads.wordpress.com/2024/06/18/think-twice-harlan-coben/
After bad news, then more bad news, then worse news to devastating news… it‘s time to get to one of the most anticipated books of the year 🥰
And there it is! 500 reviews! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I found NetGalley thanks to Litsy! ❤️
Going to a week long crime writing retreat in a month. I have to write a page about my favourite crime book. How am I supposed to choose one? I can‘t even write the pre-assignment 🤯🫣😫😧
“This is a title you‘ve been invited to view” - oh, such beautiful words! I absolutely ❤️❤️❤️❤️ this series!! @Andrew65 and what is she wearing… 🤣
Name an author/authors whose writing blow your mind! For me for example Oscar Wilde, John Boyne, Jeffrey Archer, and William Kent Krueger. Not only a great storyteller, but more talking about the writing style. That je ne sais quoi, you know. 🥰
Took 25 books to this “take one, leave one” book trolley at the mall, and found this one! For once it went this way, but very satisfied 🙂
Published June 6 ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥳🥳🥳🥳
Thank you CJ Sansom for the great Shardlake series that I enjoyed very much! So sad to hear that your earthly journey has ended 😢 Rest in Peace
So far this year has been bad in so many ways and the world has gone crazy, and more bad news coming… so time to focus on books!!! Look at some of the books of 2024!!!! And so many more great ones coming. Just finished the latest DK Hood, Angela Marsons, and a new Department Q coming… ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh WOW!!! Book number 4 in the Lewis trilogy (all trilogies seem to be 4 or 5 books nowadays… 🫣). But, tbh this is one of my top three trilogies of all time!!! So, thinking I need to reread. Rarely do it, but seems appropriate now.
