I am working on decluttering my library.
I have a ton of books I would love to sell of to a good home. Some have been through #LMPBC and others are almost brand new, or barely used books.

Where do you usually sell your used books when you clean off shelves? I usually end up just donating them to the local library for their library sale (but they currently aren‘t accepting any donations, and I‘m betting they won‘t be any time soon) or listing newer ones or sets on EBay.

Any good suggestions to rehome books?

GingerAntics If there is a half price books around, I used to bring them boxes of books. It kind of depends on what is in your area. 4y

AmyG I donate them now,since the library isn‘t taking them, to the thrify shop. Or a friend‘s LFL. 4y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @GingerAntics Yea, that‘s where I‘m kind of stuck. There isn‘t a bunch in my immediate area and both the library and Salvation Army aren‘t taking donations. I might just have to make a pile somewhere for maybe late 2021. 🤷‍♀️ 4y

CoveredInRust I list mine on paperbackswap.com but you have to cover the cost of shipping and if no one has a request for the books it can take some time to get rid of all of them. The bonus is the books you get to request in return, tho. :) 4y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Andrew65 Right! 😂 it‘s not normally a problem I run into. The library has been my go to for years. I buy them at the sale, donate them there, and any money they make funds my local library. 4y

LeahBergen I‘m not sure what your city is like but I sell mine to a local used bookshop. They don‘t pay a lot but they offer you more if you opt for trade-in on their books over cash. I have a “bank account” going there now. 😆 Whatever they don‘t take, I drop off at a local charity shop or Goodwill. 4y

AmyG The library was my go-to but they stopped taking donations....so the thrifty store which may soon stop taking them, too. 4y

KVanRead Don‘t sell mine but have been dropping them a few at a time at the various Little Free Libraries in my neighborhood. Only problem is I usually end up coming home with at least one more.😬 I recently happened upon Backlash for next year‘s shesaid read! 4y

TrishB No- it‘s one of the very first ones and the battery is knackered - so I need an upgrade! Just deciding which one to get. Although I can still buy - they would all be waiting for me anyway! 7y

I can't imagine not going to a book sale. Ever. It just doesn't make sense in my Abby-Normal brain. On rare occasions I make it out without buying anything, but that's okay because the thrill is always in the search.
